Title: Equipment
Post by: Kali_In_Chicago on September 04, 2003, 10:05:26 AM
(I hope this isn't a repeditive question.  I've searched the board, and couldn't find a thread that asks this question)

I'm trying to find good gloves and a protective mask for light / medium sparring.   Where does everyone buy from?  Also, a good stick supplier would be appreciated...

Thank you to anyone / everyone that replies

woof:

forgive me for keeping it within the Tribe, but DB Pappy Dog makes excellent rattan sticks. i've read many, many people on the forums rave about how long his sticks last. i believe he also sells fencing masks.

in the past, i got my order processed very fast. i cannot recommend him highly enough. and i do not work for him and am not a Dog Brother.

I've ordered sticks from him too

some regular sticks
a pair of ironwood sticks that are absolutely beautiful and great for training because they are considerably heavier than normal sticks
and the stick bag for some free advertising for him

How well does this mask do for light/medium sparring guys?  I'm needing something for the gym but I don't know which route to take.

What have been your experiences with headgear, etc.??

I noticed that Nick has two masks on his site now.

I have a pair of Pappy Dog's sticks, gloves, a sabre-strength fencing mask, stick bag and Porter aluminum training knife, all top-notch gear.  Nick is the best!

Er, just to clarify, is bloodsport.com Pappy Dog's site?

I ordered one years ago, but never used it. I figured it would probably draw the wrong type of attention while traveling on trains and buses.
