Title: Russian Stick Work
Post by: TomFurman on November 19, 2007, 04:46:02 PM
Vlad has always impressed me, even though some RMA practitioners seem to mimic him and not "get it". Sonny P has impressed people who are battle hardened and jaded so that interests me. Here is Vlad's take on stick. Watch the last few seconds at normal speed. http://www.russianmartialart.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=22&products_id=112

You have to download this in Quicktime form.

The Systema seems really interesting. I would like to experience a seminar, the techinique that was perfomed at the end of the clip seems like it would fit in with the FMA and other systems, it seems like a matter of zoning out into a zero pressure zone.  It also reminds me of something out of Datu Worden's "Connecting the Systems" video.  I think I have posted this before but I was pretty skeptical of the Systems stuff but an instructor that I have had some Sombo training with years ago wrote an article about Vlad and the Systema system and it made me want to give it a chance.
