WARRIOR TRIBES CAMP 2010

After a huge success over the past few years, Ryukyu kempo Slovenia (RKSI) and Slovenian Kempo Arnis Federation (KAF), are organizing the 3rd Warrior tribes camp, held in the beautiful Tolmin, Slovenia, Europe. The camp will be from June 25-27th 2010.

Warrior Tribes Camp is devoted to all martial artists, seeking truth in combat and realistic applications of their training.

All ‘’modern combatives’’, modern street effective tactics, originate deeply from traditional sources, holding the key to correct and advanced combat applications. Warrior tribes camp will capitalize on traditional martial arts, their original goal and purpose, seeking answers to 21st century conflict scenarios, enabling practitioners from any eclectic or traditional martial art to upgrade their traditional training, self defense and combat skills to an even higher level.

Seminar will be conducted under Borut Kincl, head shihan of the Kempo Arnis Federation .

Richest of the Slavic nations, Mediterranian coast and the Alps in a small space, looking forward to a tourist report for those of us who may never make it there.  I recall that Europe and the U.S. were on the wrong side of history opposing self-rule for Slovenians in 1991: http://www.ljubljana-life.com/ljubljana/ten-day-war

Doug

Thanks to you I will appear to be an unusually well-read man tomorrow.

As it was today, I chuckled my hosts with my memories of being an 11 year old boy in Slovenia in 1963- Tito's communist dictatorship.

Woof All:

110 people in attendance for three days of good times.  The afternoon of the last day we went white water rafting on the cleanest, most blue river I have seen.

Thanks to Borut and Tina for an outstanding time.

A LONG day yesterday getting home.  Wonderful to be with my family again.

Now I rest.

The Adventure continues!

I just noticed that I have not yet filed an AAR on this.

Although Slovenia is 9 times zones east of my home in Los Angeles, a seminar the weekend before in NYC broke the trip and the time zone changes into smaller pieces-- this made things much easier on my body.

110 people attended-- a very nice group with a very good attitude. Lots of very agreeable socializing in the evenings-- sometimes well lubricated by a local moonshine known as "snake spit".

People from this part of the world are very tall. Lots of people were 6'3" to 6'6".

Some of the other instructors were Israeli and Lightning Scientific Arnis's John Escudero, a Filipino, lives in Israel. (LSA is a system of interest to me ever since I saw GM Ben Luna Lema teach one night at the Inosanto Academy) so it was particulary nice for me to get another look at it.)

Assisting me was Cro Dog, an LEO of Croatian descent who lives in Germany. (Tangent: I was surprised to see how little rancor there seemed to be left over from the war(s) of the early 1990s) It was a great help to have someone who understands the real fight and DBMA on the assist.

Sunday afternoon we went white water rafting on the bluest river I have ever seen. A fine finish to a wonderful trip!

25 hours door-to-door to get home. Wonderful to be with my family again.
