Title: Passing of Maestro Elmer Ybanez

Hello all,

I just wanted to let everyone know that Maestro Elmer Ybanez, founder
of Lema Scientific Kali Arnis System (LESKAS) passed away on March
31st, after a long battle with leukemia.  Maestro Ybanez was the
senior instructor of late grandmaster Benjamin Luna Lema of Lightning
Scientific Arnis (LSAI).  He leaves behind his wife Maribel, and
stepdaughter Ethel.

Maestro Ybanez founded the LESKAS system in the Philippines with the
blessing of Mang Ben, and established a solid core of students and
instructors before moving to the US in 1998.  After relocating to the
Seattle area, he formed as US branch of the organization, and built a
strong group of dedicated students there as well.

He was an outstanding instructor, and a fine human being who will be
greatly missed.

RIP Maestro Ybanez...
