What type of wood is Top Dog's staff(I saw it in the Gathering pictures) made of?

To be precise the staff is mine and is "the Ringmaster's Staff" for our Gatherings.  Its a present from Dr. M. Gyi, GM of the Bando System.  Coincidentally enough I'm in Dayton Ohio right now for a seminar at Jeff Brown's school and some training with Dr. Gyi.  I will check with him and ask.
