Title: 2 prob. silly questions
Post by: Alex (UK) on September 28, 2004, 08:05:11 AM
Ok a friend of mine had a couple of training knives recommended to him by his instructor, (who trains in the Warriors Escrima system under Krishna Godhania), and I am hoping to get a pair myself.

These are the ones:

They are ?30 for a pair, which seems well worth it to me

HOWEVER I'm coming to LA for my friend's wedding next week, and it seems likely that it will be possible to get them at an even more reasonable price given that everything is generally 2x more expensive in the UK.

So my questions are:

1. Where in LA could I get some training knives like the above?

2. Does anyone know the situation for taking them back to the UK on the plane? Will I be able to take them in my main luggage without getting strip searched on the way in? Should I notify the airline first since they will at first glance look very suspicious?

Thanks

Alex

Take a look at these training blades:

I don't think you should have a problem with them in your bags other than the carry ons.  When I went to a seminar several years ago I just put little sticky notes on them saying "training blades for martial arts."  They still searched the bags but atleast they know what they are.
