I think it is a shame that people are trying to sneak in cameras and tape the fights @C-Yo Dog: How do you want to judge if a new Fighter is taking pictures or filming? On the day of the Gathering Guro Crafty and Pretty Kitty have so much stuff to do, how should they than also check the audience/fighters? A professional photographer is a really good solution. For a couple of bucks everybody can purchase a DVD with all the pictures.

C-Gong Fu, is it to early to ask for a fight? single stick vs your tri-staff? This is the wrestling coach from Ohio btw.
My friend, it is never to early to ask for a fight As a matter of fact I got already a couple of brothers on my dancecard.... To cut it short, for sure my brother I would love to dance with you! A BIG WOOF from Germany

That's a cool assessment C-Gong Fu Dog. But what about me.. an Aged, Short, "Gimpy", half strong, half coordinated fighter? I fear that I am resorted to a Beach Towel as a fight weapon. C-Mighty Dog, besides the fact that such an experience Fighter like you would already be a General, I think that Double Sabers or Double Swords would fit you well. Or maybe a Chinese Walking Cane BTW, I got a really nice one of those...you would love it

C-Spartan Dog, I will try to cut it short: The name of the General is Qi Jiguang. In his book he describes which criteria he used for his troops: -age -body type (height and strength) -character(he calls them "bloodthirsty) Some examples: A guy who is forty years old will be healthy and will still have some strength, but his agility is not the best anymore. So it would make no sense to give him a "Round-Shield", where he should be kneeing most of the times, crouching on the battlefield, and than move fast as lighting... A young guy will not have the strength to carry a heavy long pole weapon the whole time and also fight with it... Soldies which are bloodthirsty should fight with short weapons... In Chinese Martial Arts the body type was always an important factor for choosing the right weapon: Short and powerful-Some heavy double weapons or a heavy saber Tall and not so strong-maybe a Spear Tall and strong-a heavy long pole weapon like the Guan Dao Short and weak-maybe a sword I hope that helps a bit Woof!

I personally think that not every weapon is "made" for every user....you have to find "your" weapon/weapons.
Besides there are weapons which are easy to use, and others which requires some "skills". Please don't get me wrong, for sure you need skills for every weapon!!
But if you take for example flexible weapons, you have first to learn how to handle those weapons, before you ever can think about fighting with them.
There are also some other aspects like height, strength and even the character of the user. Especially if we talk about Chinese weapons. In an old book which is written by a General of the Ming Dynasty, he describes which criteria they used in the military to decide which guy should use which weapon.

Dog Terry, actually there is no blade at the end. Just in some movies they use a blade It is "just" a pointy piece of steel which is thicker, and so also heavier, than the other pieces of the whip. So it is mainly a flexible impact weapon. And I'm planning to use it like an impact weapon. For sure the weapon will loose a lot of it's potential if it is build just out of Rattan...still I wanna give it a try! For sure my friend, it will be a honor for me to dance with you using this weapon!

Point Dog, well we will see about that...Like I said you are an experienced fighter, and you are a Brownbelt in Judo and a good Bluebelt in BJJ ad last but not least: You hit hard!! I'm also looking forward to my blade fight with Psycho Bitch! I was really impressed how she moved with the "Sword" (Sorry, since I'm not familiar with the FMA terminology I don't know how to call that blade She is a real warrior and got amazing skills!! So basically at the next Euro Gathering the Aberdeen Clan will kick my Ass...great C-Mighty Dog: Very well said!!!

Never make a commitments for something that no have little, or no intentions in fulfilling. Your word, whether verbal or written is the measure of you!
I like that! This is how it is supposed to be! What I don't get is that these guys always have so nice excuses...If they would at least be honest and say whats up, it would be all good for me!

I thought C-Gong Fu Dog did a fine job of integrating into his fighting the 3SS ideas that we worked only the day before. As he has time to bubble and ferment inside with them and the experience of the Gg with them, I look for his game to move forward nicely. Similarly I look for good things out of him in Kali Tudo Thanks a lot for your kind words! Like you say, my head is full of ideas right now, and I will do my best to become better and better with that weapon. And for sure I will also try to become better with other Chinese weapons I´m looking forward to the next Gathering

He has heart and cares about his family and keeps his word no matter what. A true warrior all the way around and a leader that all men should aspire to be like.
Dog Terry
There is nothing more to say...that guy is a real hero! I really hope that he will make it to the UFC!!!
