Do I see you in there Kaju Dog?
Sorry No. Just popped this in because I like the way Sijo does his bit in the beginning from his seat. This is GM Angel Garcia's DVD series. Angel Garcia was born in Spain on August 26, 1956. Angel began his Kajukenbo training in the 70's under the instruction of Sifu Ed Shepard. Shepard was a black belt from the Al Reyes line who was assigned to Spain while in the U.S. Air Force. Garcia acheived the rank of black belt before Shepard was transferred back to the states. When Sifu Shepard died in a car accident, Garcia lost his only contact with Kajukenbo for many years. (He was the only Kajukenbo black belt in Spain). In the 80s, when Panther Productions released their Kajukenbo tape series with Professor Gary Forbach, Garcia immediately bought them. At the end of the tapes was contact information for Prof. Forbach. Angel contacted Prof. Forbach and re-established the connection between himself and the Kajukenbo Ohana. Over the years Prof. Garcia has made many trips to the United States to train and visit with Prof. Forbach, Sijo Emperado, and the late Prof. Halbuna. Besides his Kajukenbo training, Angel has studied other arts, and is known for his strong jujitsu techniques. Angel has written 2 books on Kajukenbo, and starred in many videos on Kajukenbo. He is the European director for the K.S.D.I. and has established 29 schools in Spain, France, Switzerland, Monaco, and Belgium.

Gratful for the people that brought needful things to me over the last few days. I am loading my truck with items that have been donated and a friend of mine is loading a shipping container at SF Bay to be shipped to American Samoa Tsunami victims. She is flying home to help her family and making sure the container makes it to all the people within her ability to help. Im driving to SF Saturday afternoon and I am also gratful for the kind offering of a place to rest my head before driving back home Sunday.

Hello to all they are curious of knowing if from you passion x the equal F.M.A and in all the countries. In famous Italy with displeasure that is little the true fans, generally the gain is preferred. The fundamental techniques count little, are made excuses for the English bad one.
I must be stupid... This makes absolutely no sense to me

DBMA Martial Arts Forum / Martial Arts Topics / Lost & Found: Item's collected after the Gathering of the Pack 2009

I know how most of us have certain items that become special after being worn at such a life altering event. With the chaos and excitement that accompanies things such as these, certain items are often missplaced or picked up during the shuffle that may or may not be ours. This thread has been started with the hope of returning such things to their rightful home... As I was clearing the CCP area I was one of the last, if not the last to depart PH gym. I have the following and would like to help them find their way home 1. A black/blue bandanna... I am assuming it is C-Dog Rene's 2. An all black double edge Sharkie training blade 3. A yellow/black rash guard with "bjj revolution" logo Please hit me back either here or with a PM and I will be sure they find their way back home. Honor, Courage & Commitment, "Semper Fi", KAJU DOG PS Will consider trade for a picture of my shooting Bitch Linda

OK, so far I have Dog Rene (cane fight) and Dog Ryan (left handed stick fight). Anyone else got some fights lined up yet... Only a couple weeks to go! Im looking for a "Shock Knife" fight, a Double stick, and a Staff fight... Keep in mind I may not be able to fight alot of fights but will do my best, until the knees or back have taken too much. Gentlemen, LET THE CHATTER BEGIN Newbies welcome... I am slow and physically challenged but will give you a good run for your money and dont hold a grudge. Dogs Honor! Dog Rene = Cane Dog Ryan = (L) Single stick Howie from Philly = Whateva Jon (Jonobos) = Double stick This is what I have lined up so far... I must be honest, I would like to open myself up to a fight or two with the unknown. I'll bring my wepon(s) of choice and you bring yours. IE. I step onto the mat with my single stick and hidden knife and meet my opponent with whatever he/she wants to bring onto the mat. No preset "Duel". Anymore takers?? I am hoping to last at least for a few more.

My friend and DBMA representative in Mexico City, Mexico is coming to this his second Gathering. Making the trip is a real stretch for him financially. Is there someone who can put him on a sofa/floor/gym mat etc? He arrives Thursday. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I read this earlier and have been trying to come up with a way to help. As you know, my home is a 3 hr drive away. I am more than happy to bring my air mattress and loan a sleeping bag and or tent if it will help. I have the camper shell on my truck but I may need it myself if too broken to drive home that night. Wishing there was more I could do. I am open to suggestions and can loan supplies if it helps. If there is a place to pitch the tent, Id even be willing to sleep over in my camper next to the tent for Sunday night.

Posted on behalf of Josh, who will be answering on his own behalf for here forward (this means you have to register for the forum Josh ) "Hello, im a fencer, and i want to test my swordsmanship in a gathering but i am unsure how a fencer would be able to compete and adapt in a gathering since my weapon of choice is basically something that would poke at my opponent causing little to no damage. is there a weapon you would suggest i use that could keep me still using my fencing technique? or is there someway to adapt a fencing saber to be more useful at a gathering?" Great question-- lets see if we can find a solution! Great question and interesting thought. I have often mentioned in my classes that a good improvised weapon of opportunity is a car antenna. I have also had kids train with the plastic rods that turn the window blinds open and closed. Wont kill, but will sting like hell and hopefully present a moment of distraction to allow for other tactics. Maybe a car antenna would be a good/realistic substitute for the saber. I would be willing to whip an antenna around with someone. KD

Fighters, I tore my right bicep earlier this week. Thank God it was just the muscle and wasn't the tendon however, the Doctor said that the next weak link to go would be the tendon the torn muscle is attached to. He is having me do physical therapy for the next 3 weeks and wants me to hold off for a month until I use it for anything strenuous. With that said, I'm looking for experienced fighters to potentially go against me (left handed), you can be either hand and honor a no clinch or grappling rule. Please feel free to email me or post back if you're interested: ryangruhn@hotmail.com Dog Ryan I'll be honored to take you up on that offer.

I have a request for all dogs. C-dogs, DB's, and newbies fighting on the 20th:
I am currently entering into my third year of coursework to earn my Doctor of Education degree from the University of La Verne. I will be in a weekend-long seminar from 8-5 on Saturday, September 19th, and September 20th. I am a full DB with a fair amount of momentum in my participation in the Gatherings, and the thought of missing one saddens me. I will be in La Verne on the 20th. I am going to try and get permission to head out to Burbank at about 11:30. I will have until about 1:30 to play and then I need to drive back and finish the seminar.
What I am humbly asking (with Guro Crafty's permission) is if I might move up to the front of the fighter's line with my partner a few times during that window with the understanding that I am not cutting? If the general consensus is, "Life's tough; get a helmet", I will understand, but of you all would be willing to help me out, I would be very appreciative.
Thank You,
GD (Bryan)
WOOF, I admire your commitment and dedication. What a silly question of course we mind In fact, we'll fight you for it...

So the PIG's out of the bag... I have had this training OEMS "Operational Emergency Training Skills" and it was by far the BEST TRAINING I have ever received as a Navy Corpsman. Without this course, I can honestly say that some of America's Sons would not be alive today. The old saying was, "The First Rule of Pig Lab - Don't talk about Pig Lab". If they shut down this training, Lives will be lost. GAURANTEED

Woof, Something else to consider is that when the guy pulled out the pen, he probably realized he was losing at that point on the ground and found stabbing was his only option. P.C.
Makes me wonder if the Pen is this guys MO, did he have it in his hand with intent, going into the altercation. KD

Whats funny is durring this whole battle.I had a Shiv-works Pkal folder in my front pants pocket...You only need one hand to pop this from pocket to action and I never even thought once of pulling it..
Woof Maxx, What you said above, I have found to be one of my greatest challenges thus far. In about 3-4 Gathering fights past, I have carried a training folder in my pants pocket where I usually keep my primary knife when going anywhere. In all of the past fights that I had this on me, I NEVER remembered that I had it or even to pull it out until the fight was over. With one exception, my cane fight with Dog Rene. (It was nice that he gave me ample time to get it out too) This is a big thing for me to accomplish in the adrenal state. Just glad your alive and not too damaged. KD

I smell the fear in the air... It's time to get your Fighter Registration in so that the real "Chatter" can begin. *I know with EURO Gathering and the Canadian summer camp that this is on the back burner a bit.... Just bringing this to the top to keep it fresh. I am hearing a slight chatter in the distance and feeling excited for this one. (Fairly Local for me = I can go!) PS Dog Rene, keep working that cane. Respectfully, KD

One of our DBMA Assn members posted the following on the DBMAA forum and I thought to ask the knowledgeable players here for feedback. TAC CD ==================================== Woof, I just recently heard about this device invented by a Navy Seal Team Doc, called the Asherman Chest Seal. This is a dressing for a sucking chest wound that has a oneway tube. A box of ten will set you back $150 www.greatmedicalsupplies.comWOOF! Guro Crafty, You should have a couple of these in the pack I gave you PS They are great! I have had the unfortunate need to use them on more than a few Wounded Warriors while I was in Iraq. The main thing to remember is to wipe the area as dry as possible before sticking it on. And always check for an Exit wound! They can be used for both entry and exit wounds. Before the ACS came about, we would use a piece of plastic and tape on 3 sides to allow for burping the trapped air from the chest cavity. On a similar note you can also use a needle to decompress the chest, cut a finger off of a surgical glove and put the needle through the finger tip, add a bit of vasaline or surgi lube/KY whateva inside the finger sleeve as to not allow air in while still allowing air to escape. This will buy you some time but should only be performed by a trained professional! I'll be happy to share this at the next adventure as time permits. If C-Sleavy Dog is up for it?
