Soitenly...how do you fancy a double knife?

It'll be great to see you again!

Registration sent!

Paul, I'm happy to do a single stick with you.

Need a knife or a double knife.

Poi, did you get the hallpass?  I think you & I are due for a stick & knife...

C-Smiling - The Giant will be in attendance.

For everyone else, "The Giant" is Dax Gulje, my student and training partner. 6' 10" and around 290 lbs. First full Gathering for him as his hand was broken last year. I'm sure he's looking for a fight or two...

...right Dax?

Giant here, reporting for duty.

Gibby, I'm afraid that the damage my hand sustained is going to be too great for me to fully participate in the Gathering this year...I got the cast off last week but the surgeon gave me another 2-3 month target before any heavy impact on the hand again.  I'm afraid I have to bow out of our stick dance, and I'm so sorry for the last minute withdrawal.

That said, Guro Crafty has given me the okay (provided I find any willing takers) to propose a one-armed knife fight (non-dominant hand bound) at the Gathering, and as this would give me the chance to still play well with others, I want to propose/offer anyone looking for target practice a one-armed fight on Sunday.

Message me here if so, I'd be much obliged!

Howdy sports fans-

I'm curious for some 'authoritative' feedback on glove wear; I took a shot to the hand wearing the KIL gloves (with a padded stick) on Sunday and earned a major spiral fracture to the 3rd metacarpal - surgery scheduled for tomorrow to get a full recovery in time for the Gathering.

I'd rather not go through this again if possible, so I will be working on keeping my hands closer to the body - but I'm also wondering if I can get guidance on some acceptable lacrosse gloves before shelling out a ton of cash, only to find they can't be used in the Gathering.  I earn my living through my fingers, so I'd really like to take acceptable precaution to prevent similar damage...any links or model name/number would be appreciated.

Cheers,
dax

I noticed Lonely Dog's post showing some 53 fighters registered for the Euro Gathering...does the registration page showing for the US Gathering usually pick up steam as we get closer to event date?  Do more fighters submit registration at the door?  Or is it possible we'll have less than 30 fighters this year?

My thanks to you both - Gibby, Poi, I'm in.

Howdy all-

As I don't wish to stand around with a certain part of my anatomy in my hands upon arrival, I too am looking to setup a couple of single stick meetings of the mind for the September Open.

This is my first foray into all this, so I'm probably looking for an amateur to go up against, as well as a more seasoned Dog Brother that wouldn't mind showing a rank n00b the ropes (Poi, you game?).

I've already got one warm-up knife fight slated, definitely game for a second one as well.

Cheers,
Dax
