I over heard two guys talking about it and didnt get in on the convo but I was wondering if anyone here knew what it was.  huh

What they were doing looked like Kali...And boxing and boxing with a knife with the angles.

IIRC the late and highly respected Guro Teddy Lucay (son of Lucky Lucay) used this term and did a video with this name.
