Seminar reviews
« on: October 23, 2007, 09:02:44 PM »
didn't see a thread on this topic...

I just want to thank Guro Crafty, Dino, and Ashley from team ruthless for holding a great seminar out on the east coast last weekend. Guro Crafty covered a large amount of material and I think the participants made strong gains in their stickwork. We reviewed the footwork matrix, the triques material, the salty strike, and some other tangents as well. I haven't trained with Guro in awhile so it was also nice to see some of the new material that he's developed. Good times had by all, it was a great weekend.

Woof All:

A fine time was had by all.  Dino & Ashley's wonderful Akita has awakened the Akita spirit in me, indeed I will be considering her litter when they get around to breeding her.  Good times over at Tiny's house watching the UFC.  I'm very glad to see that D&A will be bringing in Porn Star on a regular basis.

And I am very much looking foward to the joint seminar in April with Sonny Puzikas!

The Adventure continues!

This was indeed a great seminar.  :-)
As always, it was truly a pleasure training with Guro Crafty, for he's a gentleman warrior in all aspects of the word.
Something that I really liked was that this seminar focused a lot on footwork, which is my main weakness.
Both Crafty and Porn Star Dog (who proved to be a very able teacher) put us through a lot of material: Dos Triques, Los Triques, Krabi Krabong, and showed us how to blend them all together in some very aggressive, fast paced drills.

Reference Porn Star Dog, I'd like to say that are extremely fortunate to have him attending school in the area as I foresee many more training opportunities with him in the near future.  :-)
And now that Dino and Ashley are DBMA Training Group Leaders I, and many others, look forward to the development of a strong DBMA training group at the Warrior's Forge, THE premier training facility in the East Coast.

Having trained also with Sonny P. on previous ocassions, I can only imagine the great quality of training that both him and Guro Crafty will present in April.
I will be there, as Systema + DBMA= great fun!!!!

Brian(AKA Porn Star Dog) and Dino hosted their very first Stick Fighting and RCAT Kettlebell Training Workshop today over at the Warrior's Forge in Manassas, VA.

It was a DEFINITELY a great workshop as Brian is an excellent instructor. He clearly knows the material and is very articulate in breaking it down. I personally learned a lot today and refreshed on some previously learned material.
We worked mainly on attacking blocks, footwork, some single and double stick drills, and to finish we blended everything together by shadow-sparring for 60 seconds at the time against different opponents.

Afterwards Dino put us all through a fast-paced entry level RCAT Kettlebell training session. It was very physically challenging but worth every gruesome minute as it gave us all the opportunity to evaluate with Dino our current physical conditioning regimens.
Mine is not where I'd like it to be at the moment, but with his guidance and coaching I will soon be exactly where I need/want to be.

The next workshop is for the second Saturday in December. I will definitely be there.  :-D

Woof Shadowdancer:

Dino provided this clip of Porn Star Dog working the Attacking Blocks generator with Ashley

Its a subtle one that many people have a hard time picking up--  so I am pleased with his teaching.
