Stickgrappler--

I'm sorry for the delayed response -- Thank you!

I'm sorry to hear about your daughter. I didn't get into the high school I wanted to either and I remember being very disappointed.  If she wants to make changes I might recommend community theater ( she could even start out helping back stage), debate, Odyssey of the Mind, or a team sport. Best of luck to you both.

I'm grateful for a good end to my old job and for a  few days off before I start my new job.

Grateful my wife understood my desire to learn from Guro Crafty directly given the opportunity.

Grateful for Guro Eddie Hunt/NYJJ for hosting this weekend's seminar.

Grateful to have met Ryan Gruhn (although at the time I introduced myself to him, I was really out of it after a long day and hungry and he was checking his emails).

Grateful to have trained material under Guro Crafty's watchful eye.

Grateful on the 2nd day of the seminar my partner was an advanced MAist.

Grateful one of my training partners was able to attend the seminar with me, so that we can work the material together better.

Grateful after a tough and tiring 2 days of training, coming home to my 3 children's homemade Father's Day cards.

" After much anticipatory stress, it turned out to have been not much at all." It's amazing how often that is the case, and how much energy that wastes on a daily basis, at least for me. Of course the flip side is that the things that really hit you like a MoFo tend to come out of the blue.

Today I am grateful to feel healthy and ready for action after a few niggling injuries recently.

Grateful to be able to carve out special times for each of my kids who have been part of great family stress recently. I've been privileged to demonstrate to them how to face hard times head on while I minimize their risk so it is appropriate for their age and personality.  Grateful that emulating some of the attributes of a Warrior to my chilldren also makes me feel fulfilled as a husband and father.

Grateful to be able to spend time with my children watching movies:

The original Karate Kid a few nights ago. A timeless classic.

Night before last, we watched the 1977 "The Hobbit". Last night, we started "Fellowship of the Ring", the Peter Jackson one and not the Ralph Bakshi version.
