Is it just Cardio type? Does it make you sweat and burn?

Hi Maxx,
Kali Fitness is fine but you can do it yourself...
Basically, take any stick or ground drill, set a 2 or 3 minute round timer with 30 or 60 seconds in between (good time for pushups or situps) and you have a workout customized to the drills YOU want to work on.
Do this for 12 rounds and yeah, you'll sweat and burn. Have fun!

Ah, but then you would be missing the chance to learn the movements Lonely Dog teaches (some of which are on the ground fighting a standing fighter) and to model your movements on Lonely Dog

I haven't bought this one yet (it's on the list) but the above is a great reason for buying the DB dvds. I enjoy watching the dvds and vid clips and then trying to emulate everyone's movements, strikes, etc. The more i've learned, the more I have to look for, and there's some really good things happening in lots of fights. Guro Lonely moves so well too!

I am looking to add something more in. I am already into pretty hardcore conditioning. If it makes you work HARD and feel like your going to throw up
I am in.

I second Porn Star Dog's thought: If you are going to model your movement after someone, Guro Lonely is a GREAT CHOICE to try and emulate.

The movements that Guro Lonely teach in the dvd are very applicable to fighting. It's easy to grab a stick and just work a few 3*5 rounds of any combination, but the way Guro L cuts right to what is fight effective is what makes it special. I'd massively recommend it because not only are you getting a workout, your developing the your muscle memory as well.
The way Guro L puts it together most of the exercises can be trained at different levels of complexity.
Does it make you sweat? Hell yeah!

I have it and I'd have to say its more than just sweating and burning. The in between rounds do emphasize certain ground movements that are really important for ground defense and counter attack. I highly reccomend it.

Just to return to the subject,
Maxx, remember that feeling of being worn out the first time we worked together, and you were already in good shape? It's a different kind of energy than

I agree, medicmatt. While I have not seen Guro Lonely's DVD, I think everyone can appreciate having workout options that are specific to FMA. Also, (again) Guro Lonely is arguably one of the DB's best fighters, so why not "borrow" from him?

I've thought about getting this video, but I would like to preview the video first. Anyone know if there are any clips avail online anywhere? I've previewed every video I've purchased, and would just like to see a bit of this one before I order it. I've started some competitive stuff and would like to do some fitness training that is kali specific rather than modifying other training regimens to fit a stick fighting style. I thought this might be a good way to do it. Thanks.

WTF! that's Roman, from the Houston pekiti group. So goddamn weird.
He's actually a very decent fighter, with excellent power and accuracy.

Great choice... Lonely Dog does a great fob explaining whats going on and its set up so that you can pop it in the player and work right along with him and a few of his crew.
