Excellent.

I'll get the ball rolling as I owe several fights

Knife fights:

Guro Dirk (leftover from last year)
Dog Jay
Joe Nepo

Stick fights:

Seeing Eye Dog (or whatever weapons we choose)
Eric Taimanglo
David Wang

Rematch:

C-Smiling Dog

If I'm missing anyone, let me know and I'll add you to the list.

Woof!

Woof all!

I will be there. I believe that Dr Doom and Ironman have a score to settle.....BWWWAHHHHAHHHAHHHHHHAAAA!
I have promised Eric a rematch on staff but I would not mind another staff fight.
I think Dog Jay and I were going to do a single stick match at the Tribal and didn't.
Other than that, I believe my dance card is open......

Dog Clint has also indicated he intends to be there.  He's kinda skinny, so if you're looking for an easy match ( wink)

C-Smiling - The Giant will be in attendance.

For everyone else, "The Giant" is Dax Gulje, my student and training partner. 6' 10" and around 290 lbs. First full Gathering for him as his hand was broken last year. I'm sure he's looking for a fight or two...

...right Dax?

I was hoping for a staff fight Dr. Dog, but I see Guro Dirk beat me to it. Guro Dirk, I'll see you at the Gathering my friend.

As it turns out, Eric won't be attending, so I should have space for a second staff fight (assuming I survive the first) - I'll add you on the card!

Tickets bought, hotel reserved, printed up registration form and should have faxed in tomorrow.  Guess it's time to start training seriously!

On another note..... I am pretty sure I will NOT be in attendance for the Open  sad

My wife is running the Chicago Marathon in Oct. She will be running 20 miles the day on the open in a mach race in Chicago.
As much as I want to be out there fighting, I feel a greater need to be here supporting her. With all of my training, cage fights, Gatherings, teaching classes..... she stands behind 100% ofthe time. I need and want to be here for her on this one.

Next Gathering for me will most likely be up North in Feb. 2014

I just wanted to let anyone in the Hemet/San Jacinto area that may need a carpool out to the open gathering know that I have two seats available and would be happy to help out with a ride for anyone that needs one. It will be an admittedly tight fit (I just have an old Toyota Tercel and it's the back seat that I have open) but I suppose it's better than nothing. Also I'm just planning an up and back so if you have plans on staying in the area over night or anything like that you will have to find a different ride back. Please note that I would also be willing to stop and pick up someone that is on my way out if needed. Please just let me know. You can either contact me here, or give me a call/text (probably the better of the two options) 951-398-2803. Ask for Jeremiah Southworth. If I don't answer please leave a message and I will call you back as soon as I can.

Might someone be able to help me travel from an LAX area hotel to the Gathering site, and perhaps to a pre/post-Gathering meal/gathering if scheduled? Thank you very much!

I'd help you with that but that would have me driving right through Compton which is an area I'd kind of like to avoid since my wife will be with me. Sorry. Sad

If you haven't been able to find anything by the 15th though please feel free to contact me and we can see if something can be figured out. If nothing else it's not to far to circle around and double back a little bit.

this will be my first gathering, and I was hoping to line up a couple dances
I am looking to start off with a knife fight, I hear they help with nerves.
I am also open to just about any other weapons!

Hi Lamont - love the moniker you've chosen  wink
Hee hee hee.....
Actually, Lamont, I have a great fight for you - Dog Clint, my training partner. You two would be an interesting match. He is good with any combination you care to try, including double stick or staff. I'll put you in touch that day. Trust me on this one.

Flight and hotel booked, form will be in via email by tomorrow.

Dance card so far,

Quiet dog- knife
Carlos- whip & dagger
Doc dog- staff
Jayze- single stick

Wouldn't mind adding another single or double stick.

If anybody has a staff I can borrow that would save me the trouble of carting mine around the airport Smiley

" If anybody has a staff I can borrow that would save me the trouble of carting mine around the airport"

I've arranged to have some there. 54 inch (jo staff length); fairly substantial but not overly so.  Looking forward to it!

You might not want three knife fights. I don't mind ceding to previous offers. That said, if you want another format I think we could work something out.

Generally we look to limit knife fights to one fight per fighter, though if there is something of special interest (e.g. 2x2) that is considered different.

Woof all!  I'm late to the party as usual, as I just got my fighter form in today (thanks to Cindy for the quick turnaround)...

Hopefully everyone's dance cards aren't filled yet, or there will be a few more late posters.

I'd like to pencil in a few fights in advance (knife, single, espada y daga, or double)... my last gathering was 2008, so it'll be nice to get the rust knocked off  grin

Looking for a single, or a single and knife or a double stick- prefer a no-grappling fight this time around.
