Woof All:

As discussed by our webmaster nearby, there was a hack attack on the server for several websites, including ours.  Apparently reestablishing the threads existant prior to the hack is a hassle and is taking our webmaster a while.

One of the missing threads contained the posts of some women looking for other women to fight at our next "DB Gathering".  With the Gathering approaching fast (only 2 months away!) I open this thread to facilitate communications in this regard.

So far, I know Bay Area Linda is looking, Swiss Linda is coming to our Training Camp but has an injury making her fighting unlikely.

Woof,
Crafty Dog

Crafty, thanks for reviving the thread!

So, are there any women fighters out there interested in fighting at the Gathering this summer? Ony?  Lynda?  And from the previous thread, Michelle? (Many apologies if I got your name wrong, it has been awhile & I'm terrible w/ names!   ) Also, if anyone else trains w/ women that you think might be ready & willing, please let them know about this too!

Thanks!
:) Linda  (Bay Area Linda)

Linda, I'd be happy to fight/spar on the side, but I get serious stage fright.

Hi Lynda,

That sounds terrific too!  BTW I'll also be at the Training Camp - are you going? Actually, to spare everyone else the personal chitchat, send me an e-mail - addr is in my profile.

:) Linda

Woof Linda:

Does this mean your ankle is healed and that you will be fighting? :D

I met the woman in question, Verushka, at my seminar in Bern this weekend.  Her skills are a lot better than her English (WEKAF experience too) but I can tell you that she is serious about coming and that I think the two of you would be a good match.   Just let me know, either here or via email and I will have one of our people in Italy take care of translating the message.   As soon as she has word of there being an opponent for her, she can book her flight.

Hi Crafty,

Hmm, I'd say that the ankle & gimp-hood related problems have healed *enough* for me to fight.  Whether I'll fight as well as I'd like to on it... well, I guess I'll find out!  :)

Looks like there will be three woman fighters this gathering.

Sheri Clayton from Goleta, CA has registered.

Best of luck to all three of you!

I thought some here might enjoy this article, current cover story of City Pages the free weekly entertainment publication of Minneapolis.  Normally they cover things more like metrosexual interests and how far to the right congressman Kieth Ellison has drifted.

Interesting article.  I certainly respect the skill and character of these women fighters, but overall count me among the sexist on this.  I watched TUF the other night-- have you seen Noguiera's face and ears?

I agree that women should TRAIN Full contact, I don't think they should fight.
Yes, I am sexists about it, just the way I am.
Personally I don't think anyone should fight professionally, men or women, but that is a different thread.

If you have a desire and a talent for something, seems that you should go do it regardless of gender.
On the other hand, fighting as spectacle, and fighting for money add a whole other aspect to the thing. It's not a pretty business.
Personally I don't like seeing anyone get pummelled into the ground, either because the other fighter was way superior, or purely due to an ability to endure pain.
Now skill and technique .... THAT'S fun to watch.
It will seem difficult at first, but everything is difficult at first.
