At 11:00pm March 31, Grandmaster Elmer Ybanez of the LESKAS system lost his battle with cancer. let us offer our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and students-- know that we grieve with you, brothers and sisters of the art.

A Sad Howl:

I met Elmer when he was assisting GM Luna Lema one night at the Inosanto Academy.  He seemed like a fine man as well as eskrimador.  Not only is this a great loss to his family, students and friends but also to the system which he inherited.

The wood is consumed, but the fire burns on.
