A lot of variables come to mind.   age, size, weight, BAC, pre-existing medical condition *(ie Blood pressure probs/meds).

Anyone want to kick this off with a stab at....;

MAM *(Military Age Male), in the "adrenal state" but otherwise healthy without any meds, drugs or alcohol, gets brachial artery  severed during a conflict.  He has a flash knockout from BFT *(Blunt force trauma), then wakes up on the floor alone without anyone to assist.

HOW LONG DOES BUBA HAVE? ...and what would you do if this was you?

Fencing mask and rattan sticks not necessary; padded sticks optional.  Mouth piece, not absolutely necessary but probably a good idea.  Shin guards not necessary, but if you have them you may as well bring them.

Martial Arts Topics / Move Over Law in effect:
« on: January 21, 2010, 09:11:05 AM »
A message from one of our Naval Leaders came my way today...  read on:

In California, the "Move-over" law become operative on January 1, 2010.

http://www.moveoveramerica.com/

Important Law to Share:

I wanted to let my Medlock Bridge neighbors know about the CA move over law.
My son got a ticket on Pleasant Hill coming back from Wal-Mart. A Duluth
police car (turned out it was 2 police cars) was on the side of the road
giving a ticket to someone else. My son slowed down to pass but did not move
into the other lane. The second police car immediately pulled him over and
gave him a ticket. My son and I had never heard of the law. It is a fairly
new law that states if any emergency vehicle is on the side of the road, if
you are able, you are to move into the far lane.

The cost of the ticket was $754, with 3 points on your license and a
mandatory court appearance.

Please let everyone you know that drives about this new law.

It is true (see details at the following web address). It states that except
two states, all the other US states (even Canada ) enacted similar kind of
law.

Of course we think our Camp is more important (record the game and watch it when you get home)

I've had some people indicate a desire to catch a flight out on Sunday and therefore they hope for an earlier starting time on Sunday, so instead of starting at 10:00, we can start at 09:00 and finish an hour earlier than previously announced.

Gratful for our new addition to the family.  His name is Samson and we recently adopted him from a good home that could not provide ample room for his needs.  8 yr old pure bred Rottweiler...  Pictures will be posted in a couple days   :-D  :-D 8-)

Samson has only been with us 3 days and already my 4 y/o son was able to walk him with ease on our daily trek *(sans any help but with my watchful eye proudly observing)  We are truely blessed.

Anyday after I receive my Tax refund (ie mid Feb or later) that works for the majority.

I also believe in giving the UK Brothers the right of way on this, as long as those that commit will be there.  I would not expect them to adjust the UK Gathering for me.  God knows I would have to fall into a crap load of $$ to make that one.  Due to logistics at this present time for me, "Semper Gumby"

(*to clarify, those from the UK in the past have always kept their word.  Nothing negative intended by the above.  I just know that it is hard to come up with the funds and schedule to make a journey of that magnitude.  That also goes for those comming from out of state in this economy.)   :-D

Im flexible and the later the better for me, I can get rid of my gut and get my ducks in a row with more time....  With that being said, my only real concern is that those that come to the private gathering also have ample time to recover in order to support the public gathering that will be right around the corner.  (unless that date is pushed back also).

To me, its all about maximum participation and good health of the tribe.

I will adjust and be there whenever it ends up being.

Woof,
KD

PS.

Im really looking forward to a fight with Baltic Dog and know better than to go into that fight without being 110%...  More time will allow me more time...

I dont seem to get much camera time...  I've fought at several Gatherings and often wish I had someone to record my fights.  Maybe I just need to get better, raise my skill level.  It must be because;  1. I suck, 2. I dont fight enought between EMS duties, 3. Im too fat for the camera,4.  Crafty and Night Owl are just keeping my activities under wrapps until my Medical Evaluation Board is finished...

Who knows...

Just playin with ya...  I did see my ugly mug and fat ass in the vid a couple times.  Too bad the part when I shot Linda "Bitch" didn't make the cut.

Again, GREAT JOB BY ALL!   Very exciting fights and great intensity.  I've received nothing but praise for the DB's and the intensity level displayed in the video.

Thank you everyone!  Looking forward to the next go round and working on loosing my gut

 :-D

Im thinking next time to start a fight with my pistal holstered and visible, tap in and then attempt to access that weapon first before transitioning to something else.

Maybe, an option for Crafty to toss a weapon into the middle of the areana as the fight is going on, just to see how things progress.  Just as if a thug dropped his pistol down his pant leg or something to that effect.  Just an idea... :-P

Gratful for receiving some much needed gear for the classes I teach at Naval Air Station Lemoore.

Gratful for being granted an opportunity to start a Sunday DBTG out of my teachers school in Visalia.  Starts the 1st Sunday in Jan. 2010.

Announced this last night to the students in class at Kajupit MMA and received many possitive responses.

Please note:  If anyone from the forum here is ever in the Central Valley area, you are always welcome to come train with the Kajupit and Kajudog family free of any charge.  We would love to share with you and hopefully have you share with us.

With respect always,

On a side note, a lesson a co-worker of mine from years ago learned the hard way.

I you want someone to sign a document and choose to "highlite" or put an "X" next the place on the contract where you want them to sign, they are not legally binded to that contract.

Think of when you go to buy a car and the finance manager or sales person has put an X or highlighted where they want you to sign.  Or as in this case my co-worker was in, he put an "X" next to the line that says "signature" on a automotive repair order, for the customer to know where to sign in order to "Authorize" additional repairs on her vehicle.  Her husband got upset with her and she argued that she didnt know what she was signing for and just signed the repair order where the advisor told her to sign.  It went to court and she won.  The judge told my co-worker that he had coaxed or led her to sign without reading the document.  He should have let her read the entire document and find "on her own" where to sign.

Thats why these days you see the little pull off tabs next to where they want you to sign, then they remove the tabs right after you sign...   :|

I got my buddy out of a jam in San Diego with a shaddy car salesman because I knew this and he did not...

You cannot direct the customer where to sign.  Let them find it by reading the contract on there own.

Just a little FYI side comment.

Woof,
KD

Grateful that oldest sonfinished rehab andl "wants" to be in a long term program. First time I've seen him "want" to get help... for those who have been around  such unpleasantries as drug addiction, "wanting" help is where it starts. His jury is WAY still out but it's a start.

Thats great news and a possitive start in the right direction.  Gratful for your sharing that news.  Your son has been on my mind and constantly in my thoughts and prayers..
