I am moving my garage program to a proper 1400 sqft space. My first classes begin in my new facility tomorrow. I will be starting with three days a week (Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays), and hoping to add more classes as enrollment increases.
Children's classes (ages 5 to 13) are from 5 to 6 PM, and the adult classes are from 6 to 9 PM on all three nights.
I teach eight different arts in two progressions: my empty handed blend consists of Jeet Kune Do, Thai Boxing, Silat, Savate, Wing Chun, and Grappling and my FMA progression consists of Dog Brothers Martial Arts and Inosanto/LaCoste. Your first evening of training is always free, whether you stay for 30 minutes or all three hours.

I am having a grand opening celebration on Saturday, September 24th. There will be free sample classes all day and two of my students will be testing at the end of the day. The schedule for the day is on my Website.
Below, I have posted a video for my school one of my students made me from footage shot in my garage academy.

I am very fortunate to be able to represent the instructors, martial systems, and organizations that I do. East Los Angeles County, west San Bernardino County, and north Orange County are undeserved in terms of the systems that I teach; I want to change that. I hope to see you in my academy soon, even if you are just stopping by to hang out and leave behind some positive energy.

Woof Dr. Stoops,
Congratulations and best wishes on your grand opening! I'm sure word will get around fast that one of Dog Brothers' finest fighters is teaching now. For anyone out there wanting world class training with a world class teacher in mixed martial arts, this is a wonderful opportunity that you don't want to let pass by; Guide Dog is feared as an opponent and respected as a Dogbrother and as a member of Dog Brothers Martial Arts Association, they don't come any better than this guy.

Thank you all for the good wishes. I can't wait until the same student makes a video using footage from the new academy! We were all very impressed with what he was able to do with footage from the garage academy.

That was an awesome video, Guide Dog. Good luck and continued well wishes for the new school. Keep us posted!

Sorry for my geographic ignorance. Would Surf Dog in Hemet be of practical use to you? Or Beowulf and Fu Dog in Moreno Valley?

:-D not being familiar with Santee actually makes you cooler.
Moreno Valley is about 1hr 20m from here so depending on the schedule it would be possible, Hemet is a little farther-
I have finally got in touch with a gentleman who was mentioned on this forum awhile back (thread was: places to train near San Diego). He said he might be interested in starting a training group down here. Not sure of his DBMAA training but he mentioned training twice a week for 2 years with Burton Richardson, which caught me eye.

After a great year of teaching in my facility in Pomona, California, I have made the decision to move my classes back into my garage in Chino Hills.
I am a full-time high school teacher with two little children (5 and 3), and the timing is simply off. Even at three days a week (I was teaching Monday - Wednesday from 5 until 9), that's just too much time away from my kids and my wife. I really tried last year to be everything to everybody, but I'm only one person. I don't want anyone to think I gave up without a fight. I will absolutely think about trying again later when my kids are a little older.
On the upside, I logged something like 500 hours of teaching martial arts this year, I have a DVD in the works, and now I have some really nice equipment for the garage. I will also actually be able to get back to my own training (I did WAY more teaching than training last year). I did not go bankrupt, or lose my house; I just did not renew my lease.
I am currently going to be teaching Wednesdays from 5 - 9 PM in my garage. I am in the 91709 zipcode in Chino Hills, California. I will teach two hours of my empty handed blend (JKD, Thai Boxing, Wing Chun, Silat, Savate, Mixed Grappling) and two hours of FMA (Inosnato/LaCoste and DBMA).
If you are local, and you would like to train, please send me a message at stoopsmartialarts@gmail.com and I will send you the details.

GD,
There is no shame on that :-) actually I respect you for doing that. My teacher told me that family comes first and then Martial Arts. My wife and two daughters are first than anythng else the rest is secondary. :-D
-
Amen.

I know exactly how you feel. Don't force it. You only get one chance to raise em right. The best training is found in garages (IME). There's timing in everything...

So very true brother. :-D

We actually had our first class back in the garage last night. I had a nice turnout, and there is a good little group of students growing. Thank you all for your positive energy!
