Ozzie Trent Day fought in our DB Gathering of the Pack yesterday (did very well too). He is making some noise about bringing me over, so any noise from his fellow Ozzies here could help make it happen.

Hi All,
I'm Trent Rice, among other things a Blue Belt in BJJ under John B Will.
John mentioned the Dog Brothers in class the other night after which I had a bit of a look through the website and was quite intrigued.
Would love to train with you guys if you can make it out here, particularly to Melbourne/Geelong?Victoria in general.

Hi,
My name is Gabriel and I am in Perth, Oz. I have learnt some kali secondhand through my instructors who at one stage travelled to LA and trained with Guru Inosanto and also learnt I think through Ray Florres . A) Count me in for any training seminars that might occur. I'll fly over east if necessary. B) I am really keen to join DBMAA. I have printed out the necessary form but noticed there is no mention of joining if you are in another country. Am I allowed or am I too far away?
Regards.
Gabe.

Concerning seminars in Australia, Trent and I are emailing back and forth about organizing a tour. Things are looking promising.

Hello, Clive here from SafeGuard / Fight Club in Sydney. I could rustle up a good 20 to 30 and a suitable venue. I'm still black and blue from my first exposure to Stick at the weekend and want MORE :-D
I could also help with the marketing
cheers

Hi Guys any more thoughts? I hosted Ray Floro this weekend and had a huge turn out, I reckon a DB seminar in Sydney would be a massive event

I'm thinking of combining this with a family summer vacation starting in Mid-July. We have a boy who will be 8 in August and girl who will have just turned 5. Suggestions?

Northern Territory Darwin, Big Crocs, Barra and other things that bite
Queensland Great Barrier Reef, Great Snorkeling/Diving
Gold Coast, Theme Parks
NSW Sydney, Harbour Bridge, Kings Cross (not for the kids)
Bondi Beach, Surfing
Victoria Melbourne, Restraunts
Great Ocean Road
South Aust Adelaide, Restraunts, Beaches, Great White Sharks
Kangaroo Island, Native Animals
Barossa Valley, Wines

July/August is winter in Aus so don't plan on a suntan unless you go to the North. Still it would be cooler for an outdoor event but better to plan on indoor because when it rains it rains
-
What range of temperatures are we talking here?
-
Average temp for July/Aug..
South Australia Adelaide 16 max 8 min
West Aust Broome 30 max 15 min
Perth 18 max 8 min
Northern Territory Darwin 31 max 20 min
Queensland Cairns 26 max 17 min
Brisbane 21 max 10 min
New South Wales Sydney 18 max 8 min
Victoria Melbourne 14 max 5 min
The southern part of Australia is cold during winter and the northern states are beautiful one day and perfect the next. Snow in Australia only are located around country Victoria. Ski fields only open during winter. New Zealand has better skiing.

Fortunately I know how to convert celsius to farenheit

Look forward to meeting and training with you.
All the best,
Jim

Woof All:
Just a quick yip to let you know that I am mentally revisiting this idea. I am wondering if the costs of bringing the familiy along will be implausible for us and at the moment now lean towards making the trip shorter and by myself due to the absence of my family.
Would those thinking of hosting me please confer with each other and put together a plausible itinerary for such a trip and email me about it?

Hi Crafty
Glad to hear you are giving the trip to Australia some more thought. I am still willing to do all I can to get you over here. Anyone else interested in working together on this drop me an email at halsey8@hotmail.com

Lets think in terms of a short trip. Perhaps a 2-3 day seminar with a day or two for privates?
How does December 2007 or January 2008 look?

Ah! the perfect thread for me to make my first post.
As this seems to be the Australian thread, is anyone training in Canberra?
Cheers!

HI All,
This is mt first post to these forums, I live in Brisbane Australia and have been an enthusiast of stick and knife training for some time. I would love to see a Dog Brothers event held in this part of the world and would like to add my voice to any support that can be gotten for it.
Similarly I would very much appreciate to hear from anyone who is keen to train in this part of the world.
Respecfully,
Gary
