I would love to see more of the stick grappling, I know that series one has a single tape on the subject but it doesn't go too in depth.  Stick grappling is there and I am pretty sure all the Dog Brothers have some great tricks and set-ups that I'd love to see.

A 2 day "Die less often" seminar aimed towards the average, non-martial artist citizens concerned about self defense.

Perhaps a little more on canes or walking sticks.

Short (24" - 28") sticks are fine, but not very practical nor often times are they legal to carry around.

But I can bring a cane or often I bring a thick 3' stick "walking stick" anywhere including the courthouse;
perfectly legal and very effective.

And 3" bladed folders; again they are legal and practical to carry around (but not in the courthouse).

No to burst anyones stick grappling love but I would love to see something alittle more realistic then stick grappling. Most people to almost all people I see on todays street are not carrying a stick around and most of the time I look around to test a theroy on there is a stick you can find anywhere, I mostly see nothing.

So far in the Military ( that I have seen) I happen to be the only one that carries a telescopic baton.

How about something that goes down more offen then not. Knife work? Being attacked by a knifer and trying to evade and protect yourself while trying to react by going for you own knife?

Maybe some non dueling aspects of knife attacks, Knife vs gun ( Reacting with a wave folder to a gun)  and or it happens but ends bad "Knife Grappling" during CQC school I noticed that well planned out knife duels or stick duels pretty much never happen. It's more like someone attacks you beating you in the face with a stick or knife are pulled during a fight and both parties have seen the blades and this grappling dance takes place while trying to knife.

Explanations of grips and what they are good for was a interesting topic that I was educated on as of recent.

It's very hard to explain over a computer I would like to get together with Guide dog during the holidays and show him what I am talking about

i like the Grandfathers series too!

i think one of the most valuable things is when you break down a fighter's structure and then show techniques utilized against that structure as in the Dos Triques dvd. So perhaps a dvd on ten common structures or situations you would find yourself in a stickfight and ways/techniques to meet them.

Something similar to the "fight compass" dvd that Rodney King does or like the Atienza's, a some classifications and stratagies for fighters as above.

Guro Crafty,

I would like to see more Gathering fights on DVD. To see application of the art is exhilarating! I would love to see more interviews with you, Guro Lonely, and Top Dog as well as any documentary style (Grandfathers Series) DVDs.

I would appreciate some footage from our training groups around the globe and more attemps to bring groups together to share and grow.

Im not talking about seminars but open training groups focused on DB's material and ideals.

Thanks,
Dean

My door is always open and I invite any and all to come stay and play.

If you're within a couple hours of CA central Valley please let me know and I would love to come visit and share ideas and applications.

The stick grappling I'd love to see more of.  I'd also like to see some stuff with shorter sticks.  I'd also like to see multiple opponent strategies.

what is legal and close is the 4 d cell maglite which is about 14"... and the 5 d cell is about 19".

despite my nick of 'stickgrappler'  :-D , i would like to see more of the other 2 H's, namely healing and harmonizing.

i'd also like to see  stickgrappling on DVD or DVDs as it would pertain to gatherings and street; i know you hold this close to your heart guro c.(much like dos triques), but this would be a good one. also kali tudo material, for the ring, class sparrring, self defense, etc.

maybe even a seminar or few on these very subjects.

What about a DVD in which DBMA fighters past and present discuss/teach a technique/concept/tactic/idea/training methodology that has worked for them in the adrenal state? This might be something that Ron shoots a little of here and there at Gatherings/DBMA seminars and then is cobbled together over time.

This is a great idea!  :-D

And maybe a brief interview with the fighter about how they prep physically and mentally for the Gatherings, nothing massively in-depth, more to gain some insight from a wide variety of fighters.

Good idea, and this is a DVD I would buy.  I've lost interest in the "this technique seems useful and works very well in dojo drills when the master demonstrates on his disciples" videos that are so common in the industry.  I really liked the preparation and fight demonstration concepts in the first DBMA series.  Most tutorial DVDs are about an instructor's favorite techniques and systemization.  There is a great deal of athleticism involved in fighting, and I'd like to see how others prepare including the timing before an event.

Woof!

I also like the idea. This would mix a bit of the dog-umentary style in with the fight footage. The training or conditioning of some of the Dogs would be an interesting addition too. I'm a big Lonely Dog fan as well and would be interested in more interviews/documentary on Guro Rittiner.

I'll quadruple that!  I'm all about seeing documentary style videos on how people prep, how they train, etc.

Guro Crafty,

I agree, more now than ever (selfishly ), that an alignment/stretching DVD would be very helpful. Of course I still want all the other stuff too! :-D

Thanks again for the advice and coaching regarding my injury this morning.

Though I like the technique oriented material, I really enjoy historical footage and the anecdotal interviews from the Gradfathers speak videos.  I also agree that documentary work, that displays the prep work and training methods that others use to get in fighting condition, etc. would be great.  Specific techniques and training movements are one thing, while methods are another, if that makes any sense.  Thanks!

I'd like to see some unarmed material.  Knife and cane stuff would also be good, but I hear that there's an aversion to making edged weapon material and I can understand that.  A palm stick DVD would be very interesting- I've never seen such a video from a full contact perspective.  Healing and recovery would be an interesting topic- it would be interesting to see some material from someone who could actually use it.

Mr. Denny,

I would like to see more knife grappling, small improvised weapons and maybe intragrated weapons training, flowing from empty hands, impact weapons, edged weapons to firearms.

Guro Crafty,

It'd be great to see some stuff on DBMA's take on how to deal with multiple opponents, both with and without weapons.

Also, I'd echo the responses about some material with the body alignment exercises.  Those exercises have really improved my general quality of life by helping my back and knees stay healthy.  They also keep me training by reducing the time I spend out for lame
"desk jockey" related injuries.

Thanks!
