Are there any companies in the US that sell Krabi Krabong swords? Thanks.

They call it sticklicking in Barbados. They would use sticks made from Guava branches. My mother(who hates stickfighting and the fact that I train   ), said men used to stickfight when she was young. My guess is that it's barely practiced now...

I ordered one years ago, but never used it. I figured it would probably draw the wrong type of attention while traveling on trains and buses.

I just finished watching Walking Tall, and did a websearch on the real sheriff. It seems they are selling his stick. I would hate to get hit by this sucker!

I can't wait until the DVDs are available! I've had the tapes for some years now. I let a friend borrow #1. He left it laying around somewhere at work. OF course it disappeared. I then bought a replacement, which I kept for a while. I ended up giving it away to another friend so he could learn some of the basics. I don't know why people have such a hard time returning stuff that isn't theirs.   I am very wary about lending out training, or any other type of, videos & DVDs. Anyway, when the DVDs are available, I'll purchase Vol. 1 to make my set complete again.

I've watched your videos. I think the average guy with a knife wouldn't have a chance against you if you had a length of pipe.   Now if he's also trained in the FMA/IMA, then I could see where you'd probably want to have the knife, cause if you miss the first pipe strike, he's gonna close real fast with the knife.

"Which one would I have in my possesion?" Most likely a pocket knife. Unless I happened to be doing some sort of plumbing job. Or if a situation was so bad that I'd carry an ASP baton.

I personally haven't held a length of pipe that was lighter than a rattan stickof the same length & diameter. They(iron, brass, & lead pipes) usually weigh as much as a kamagong stick or heavier. One solid hit to the head, knee, or weapon hand...or any combination of the above, should end a fight...hopefully.

I carry a Benchmade Mini-AFCK.  Sometimes in my pocket, mostly in bag with a bunch of other stuff.  I'm pretty sure the blade is slightly longer than the legal limit in CA.

Isn't the legal blade size in California 5"? I think I remember reading that somewhere. Or is that Texas? The Mini-AFCK's blade is 3.25" long. In NY, we have to stay under 4".

The "standard" diameter of rattan sticks is about 1". If you have large hands like me, you'll probably want 1 1/8" or 1 1/4" diameter sticks. I have a pair of 1 3/8" sticks from KIL that I had to retire from class use. My Guro called them tree trunks. They were destroying everyone's sticks. They are the densest pair of rattan sticks I own. You can barely see the pores in the end of the stick.
