Big thanks to Guro Crafty for the Gathering.  A big thanks and howl the NoHo krew... my teacher Pappy Dog.

Peter - thanks for the single stick fight.  next time I'll be more aware of my OWN KNIFE! doh'

Linda - thanks for the right glove.

Mauricio -  Thanks the knife fight and the single stick fight.  You first hit me on my left wrist.  I instantly pulled it back but quickly thought to myself  "can't let him know he hurt me" and returned my wrist to its normal position.  You then hit my right wrist even harder!  I never felt that particular pain. I grunted (or maybe yelled in pain lol) and like a dope stared at my wrist.  It wasn't until you yelled with your stick up in the air and Crafty paused the fight momentarily to ask me " are you okay? do you want to continue?"  i said "yes" and we began to fight.  Then you hit me on my head, my left knee buckled, and i wobbled.  In my heart i wanted to fight but my body was done.  Crafty had to come over, he stopped the fight... pulled me aside and said " your done... no more fights for you today buddy..."  - awesome

Thanks for the humbling experience.  I have a whole lot more training to do.

Guro Crafty - I have pictures from my friends camera.  Unfortunately the camera was on the wrong setting and needless to say i have a whole lot of blurry fighters.  There are some that are salvageable  tho' .  I'll see what i can do on photoshop.  it will take me awhile but I'll email them to you as soon as I get them done.

I don't know if anybody here is into Korean films but these three are really good

'Vengeance Trilogy' is a term used to describe three films directed by South Korean film director Park Chan-wook which dealt with the theme of revenge. Tartan Films released the three films on DVD in 2007. They are:

    * Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002)
    * Oldboy (2003)  There is a fighting scene in this movie that really kicks ass.  Its when the main character is fighting his way out of a hallway.  I don't want to spoil it for
you.. you just have to watch it.
    * Lady Vengeance (2005)

Another really good Korean film is 'Silmido'

Backdrop:
On January 31, 1968, 31 commandos from North Korean Special Unit 124 infiltrated South Korea in a failed mission to assassinate President Park Chung-hee.

As a means of retaliation, the South Korean military assembled a team of 31 social outcasts and death/life criminals, training them on the island of Silmido, off the coast of Incheon, in order to execute Kim Il-sung. The mission, regarded a suicide mission, was seen as the only way for these new recruits to redeem themselves and show their loyalty to their country. If they succeeded, they would win their freedom and a new life. With this goal in mind, they endured gruelling, almost inhumane training, becoming finely honed killing machines.

A good filipino film I would recommend is Dekata 70.

I haven't seen any asian or foreign films in a couple years.. when i use to rent them i would rent them online here http://www.cinflix.com/... but i think netflix carries alot of Asian films now.

Big Thanks to Guro Crafty and the rest of the Dogs for the "Gathering of the Pack"

Big thanks to  Pappy Dog (my teacher), Junkyard Dog, Seeing Eye Dog, Matt, Eric, Chuck.. basically the entire N. Hollywood crew for training, guidance, and preparing me for my first Gathering.

I haven't been training long and truthfully was having second thoughts on participating in the Gathering.... but once I  verbally said it out loud and told Pappy Dog "I'm going to do it"... I knew there was no turning back! Then I downloaded the fighters registration doc and saw my name and thought to myself " OH SNAPS!  Brian what did you get your self into!" I learned a lot about myself on Sunday and I thank you all.

Guide Dog, thank you for the fight.  I have a lot more to learn and I hope to be a more of a challenging opponent for you at the next Gathering.  The same goes for my new friends from Canada... thank you.

Mauricio and Maynard... Gracias and Salamat po for the 2x2 knife.  It was fast, hectic, and fun as hell.
