All Disciplinary Confinements are not created equally.  Here in Florida you also have Close Management.  Short term confinement doesn't seem to have too bad of an impact on your mental health.  Long term CM, does.  You see all kinds of problems there.

You also have protective management for those who are scared on the compoung, but that is for people with legit reasons.  If you don't have those, or they can be solved by transfering inmates, you will be released from PM.

But I've seen inmates act up just to go to confinement for a few months, just because they didn't feel like working on the grounds crew, or they just wanted a brake from inmate drama for a while.

OK.  Thank you!

I have been alternating my stance when backing up, but putting my hands in the ready to strike position as if I was moving forward.  I will alter this and lower my hands while backing up.  I wasn't sure if I was supposed to keep the back hand up or not.

I want to make sure that I am drilling the techniques properly so that I don't create bad habbits!

Thanks again for all of your help.

No, it happening when I have for example my right hand in the ready position with the tips pointed at the opponent.  And the left hand is coming accross to block and oncoming strike.  At the same time, I'm stepping back.  I was thinking that I was holding the ready hand too far forward.

So when the opponents stick is coming in at an angle toward my neck, I'm blocking it with my front stick, however the stick that is up in the ready position somtimes gets hit which makes it bounce back toward my head.

So you are saying that I am not meeting the oncoming stick with enough force.  That is the real issue, and if I did that, I wouldn't have to worry about the stick that is in the raised position?

The stick that is in the raised position, pointing at the opponent; does it serve as any other purpose, other than being ready for the strike?  Is it there for a block also?

Thanks for the help!!!

I have purchased this DVD and I thoroughly enjoyed it!  However, some friends of mine, and I have been training in stick fighting with the DVD I ordered (Krabi Krabong), and I have some questions.  First of all, we have been doing the beginning drills for a while now.  One thing I was wondering is that we continue to use the style of keeping the stick pointed at the opponent before and after the strike, as was demonstrated in the video.  Sometimes, when I and doing the blocks, if I don't strike hard enough when the stick is coming down, the opponent's stick will make contact with the back stick which is raised a little above my head.  That causes my own stick to hit me in the head.  Is this an acceptable consequence or, and I doing something wrong?

Thank you for your help.
