Howard's stories about the Warrior Christian, Solomon Kane, are my favorite.

"it has fallen upon me, now and again in my sojourns throughout the world, to ease various evil men of their lives"  Solomon Kane - from "The Castle of the Devil"

Then it would be good for you to know that The Movie is in the works..

Solomon Kane was a good character..Anyone read Brac Mac Morn?

Been a big fan of the Cimmerian since I was a kid. But never heard of Soloman Kane, going to have to ckeck that one out :-D

Hey Tex,

If this is the same Comjuka Kali that I had some run ins with about 9 years ago (~1998) in El Paso, TX, I would be very hesitant to recommend it.  Maybe my experience was unique, but I had a very negative experience with Ruby Gaudiosa and one of her students when I was living in Las Cruces, NM.  IMO, the skills demonstrated by one of her instructors was extremely sub par for an instructor in the FMA.  And the cost of training with the organization also left a bad taste.

Again, this is just my opinions based on my experience with the organization.  YMMV.

Aloha, Poi

Ruby Gaudiosa in El Paso, yep same group.

Funny thing is, what you said is pretty much exactly the same thing I read on the only other forum I found that had a topic about Comjuka.

Hmm, geuss maybe I'll be going back to the NHB school I was training at last year. And continue working through DB material of course :-D

Thanks for the reply,
Jason

Okay, what I did was up the cardio, slowly cut back on calories, and eat 5 or so times a day( protein supp. was considered a meal.) And I did eat mostly chicken and tuna, but I did eat red meat to. Also I was using very basic whey supps. no weight gainers of any kind. Just checked an old tub of powder I have sitting around(GNC brand name) and it is 120 cal., 20g of protein per scoop and I was using 2 scoops after my workouts. The bars I used were called Detour, don't have one in front of me and I can't remember how many calories, ect.

Never tried Sea Weed sounds interesting. Where do you buy it?

Hello friends, I finally found a Kali school in my area, their not in the phonebook so I was surprised when I found their website. But anyways its called Comjuka Kali http://www.comjuka.com/indexmain.htm and I was wondering if you guys and gals have an opinion on this particular style? I've never heard of it and from what I've been reading I guess it has not been around long here in the states. Also what do you all think of Fillipino ground fighting because this strain of Kali seems to use it?

Thanks,
Jason.

I've droped weight in the past while taking both protein shakes and bars. So your probably good to go. Don't forget your body will start to eat your own muscle if your doing hardcore cardio and not taking in enough protein.

I carry a 5" Cold steel Voyager or a Spyderco Chinook II in my back pocket. Unless I'm in athletic shorts then they may get moved to the appendix position. I also have a Spyderco Perrin and Temperence that go appendix carry sometimes, and a ronin that goes around my neck every great once in a while.
