Martial Arts Topics / A question about the BudoInternational DB DVDs
« on: August 28, 2006, 12:42:58 AM »
I have a question about the European version of the DVD:s at BudoInternational:
Power, The Dog Brothers Way and Crossbreeding Kali and Krabi Krabong...

They seem to be currently lacking a UK distributor (and the old distributor had prices which were a lot higher than the Spanish one), so I was wondering are all the DVDs same versions? I mean do they have all the language/subtitle (if any) versions or do I get a Spanish version if ordering from the Spanish web site?

Any ideas?

I'd rather order them within EU because of the customs reasons (also, they are PAL/region 2 or 0 as well).

EDIT: I think the DVDs have all language versions, judging from the website, but if anyone has any knowledge, that would be great. I also tried contacting them, but no answer.

Martial Arts Topics / Fencing masks
« on: February 15, 2005, 05:31:23 AM »
Hi everyone,
I finally found a store in Finland that sells fencing masks. What is your recommendation for stick sparring use:
http://steffenpeters.de/store/index.php?cPath=37
I have eyeglasses which I plan to use at least in the beginning (no full contact sparring) under the mask. Is this a bad idea? Should I get contact lenses right away?

Thanks for the input!

Martial Arts Topics / DVDs?
« on: November 01, 2004, 02:00:23 AM »
Hi,

what's the update on releasing your old tape series on DVD and/or new series? The most recent post I could find on the subject was pretty old and it stated that the work is in progress...
I brought this up in the Eskrima Digest list once, but I think many of the people here are not on the list, so: I think there are several advantages favouring DVD over video tape, as 1) it is a format that will used in the future as well 2) picture quality is superior 3) freeze frame, slow motion etc. are better 3) multiple language/subtitle/viewing angle support 4) you name it. The one thing that speaks against it is, of course, piracy. But, make the original DVD worth owning with nice covers, reasonable price, instruction leaflet, whatever, and people will buy it.

my 2 cents

Martial Arts Topics / Lameco Eskrima web site & email address?
« on: October 07, 2004, 11:47:19 PM »
Hi,

I tried emailing the address I found in the Lameco Eskrima website maintained by the Dog Brothers at http://www.lamecoeskrima.com but the mail bounced. Does anyone know if they still sell the book "Masters of Arnis, Kali & Eskrima"? Or is it available somewhere else? Bakbakan was going to reprint it but sustained from doing so at the request of the family on the late E. Sulite, so I assume they are still selling it (or have plans to do so), but where could I get it?
