Martial Arts Topics / Michael Moore's new movie

I can't stand Moore, but I must admit he amused me with his ham-handed attempt to influence the Canadian elections.

Also, for reference purposes, The Truth About Bowling for Columbine.

Hmm...these pictures look impressive.  Why don't you guys try sparring with ironwood or kamagong? How can one know an authentic art when all you guys do is ecourage each other to take meaningless whacks with supple sticks?

I used to spend 10-15 minutes a day just doing sinawali on a punching bag (don't have access to one at the moment, though). It seemed to help my speed and forearm strength quite a bit.

I personally feel too impressed with it, reminds me a bit of the super flashy kind of FMA i have seen where they are all florettis and so forth.

They explicitly state that they're going for beauty rather than effectiveness in the second paragraph. [EDIT: And that they've modified the system to be more sport-ish]

Also, I'd be interested in seeing those Irish videos.

woof:

forgive me for keeping it within the Tribe, but DB Pappy Dog makes excellent rattan sticks. i've read many, many people on the forums rave about how long his sticks last. i believe he also sells fencing masks.

in the past, i got my order processed very fast. i cannot recommend him highly enough. and i do not work for him and am not a Dog Brother.

Er, just to clarify, is bloodsport.com Pappy Dog's site?
