Specifically, is there a Trigg 101 and Trigg 102 component to stick fighting when in unmatched leads?  Does anyone have proven successful strategies and tactics when fighting orthodox vs. southpaw or vice versa?

Speaking of the new DBMA Sport Knife Dueling knives, I was just at the DBMA store in didn't see them there.  Where can I find these knives?  For the record Crafty brought 2 of the new trainers to the last Tribal.  I used them both in different knife fights.  They have a rounder edge and a much rounder, almost semi circular tip.  As for the safety impact of the new design, you are gonna have to ask the other guy standing on the wrong end of the knife.  :)

Do you really want to know?  Spoiler Alert for UFC 160 results! Cerrone def. Noons via unanimous decision (wasn't even close), Grant def. Maynard via TKO (punches) early in rd 1(Grant #1 contender to face Henderson), Texiera def. Te Huna via submission (guillotine) in rd1, JDS def. Hunt by KO (wheelkick! follow by right hand on ground (AWESOME KO) in 3rd rd), Cain def. Silva via TKO in rd 1 (beautiful 1-2 combo followed by ground n pound from sideride position.  Great maincard!  On side note Forrest Griffin retires from UFC.

« on: May 15, 2012, 09:36:51 PM »
With Crafty's permission to post, I have a Redman Self Defense Suit for sale.  It is lightly used but in good condition.  I no longer have a need for it.  The suit has been sitting in my closet untouch for over a year.  I will have it with me at the Tribal Gathering 5/19/12 for anyone there to check out and possibly save on shipping cost.  Will have pictures and more details soon.  You can post responses here or send your inquiries to dubd.davis@gmail.com.  You can also check out the Redman Self Defense website, sorry dont have the link.

Martial Arts Topics / Re: Ideal Training Partners

I will start with the first one.  Punctuality.  A training partner that arrives on time, shows reliability and respect (OK maybe that was 3 qualities).  Someone that is respectful and reliable will usually be a safer training partner (4?).  Someone that you can trust (5? Who's counting?).  That trust factor is key to any relationship.  Together as a group you will be able to accomplish more, benefit more and grow more (in this case as a stickfighter).  Just a thought.

If you could create the perfect training partner, what skills, capabilities and qualities would they have?  What would be most important for you?

Thanks Crafty Dog for taking the time to speak with me.  I appreciate the tips and pointers on recruiting training partners.  I would love for the Arizona cactus roots movement to grow into a DBMA training group.  As soon as I am able I will head out to LA to train with you.  I dont care what you say man, you are a ROCKSTAR!

Would like to start a Dog Bros grass roots movement (or desert roots) in Arizona.  Looking for like minded people to train with. All I have to offer is my own blood, sweat and tears.
