Has anyone else tried it?

I dont know my heart rate but it does not seem to be fast. I sweat alot..My mission is to tighten up the body more muscle tone/hardness along with endurance and strength...Not the fluffy puffy "I lift alot of weights" look but the You dont want to mess with me Punisher look..lol! On that note, a guy from Sayoc trained the actor for that movie.  :-D When I started this stuff I was at 225lbs..I started doing super work outs and I went to 170lbs So any helpful advice on what I am doing right now would help..

I have been doing this and I am not sure if I should up the reps and do less sets or should I stay at the same..I do one right at the other
1) push ups x20
2) Squat thrust x20
3) Prison Squats x25
4) Dips x25
5) Curls x10(Ezbar Heavy) then next time the set comes up I do single Dumbbell at 30lb and keep switching
6)Crunches x100
7) Bellyblasters x30
8)Situps x20
9) Leglifts x20
10)Jumping Jacks x100

I have been doing this is sets of 6 at the end I work the heavy bag for 3 mins with out rest and then switch down to a big heavy tire. One of those lifted ford truck tires. It weights about 65lbs...I work ground work on that..Like mount it and work on my strikes from a mount and then from the sides..Then shoot back and squat it right up to the air..Turn my body around and slam it on the ground and repeat the process..I do that for about 3 mins with out rest..Then work on Kali Baston stikes and work on hitting my tire rack for about 3 mins..Then switch to Knife for 3 mins and one more set of heavy bag and tire. (These 3 mins things are songs)

So back to the question..at the top..More reps and less sets or stay the same?

« on: February 24, 2008, 09:21:08 AM »
Welcome my friend to the wonderful world of glasses. lol! The only simple advice I can give you is this. I take them off when I train for anything. Conditioning or fighting.....I figure if it goes down my glasses are gonna get knocked off my face anyways so I should probably be ready for it...

Glasses are man enemy  When I put them on they seem to fade away all my tatooes and make any outfit I am wearing less cool..But when I take them off, I become awesome again!!! LOL!

My last advice is that if you still feel like you need to wear them while training or teaching someone, I suggest getting those Sport glasses that baseketball players wear. They are made of protect plastic or something and they hug to your face so they wont fall off...And they are pretty expensive as well.

Hope this helps!

Excellent fight between two good fighters of whom I've never heard.

OTOH, Kimbo vs. Tank was a joke.  Duh, what a surprise.

I would have to agree that fight was pretty awesome. Both really good fighters and that knee was mighty sweet at the end. I watched the Kimbo and Tank fight and I thought it was pretty cool for what it was.

Just a short piece of info.  I went to a local Costco a few weeks ago and their tire center gave me a large, used tire for free.  I only took one, but they offered as many as I could cart away.  They also told me that they usually have to call a service to take the old tires and that they prefer to donate the used tires when possible.  They had recently donated 20 used tires to a local high school for their football team's training.  I noticed that C-Dog Pound had some tire work in his circuit training and I have been having a great time lately alternating between kettlebell rounds and rounds using my tire as a heavy bag for weapons.  I went in fully prepared to lay out money for a new tire, only to have a nice clerk suggest I get a used one for free!  I'm sure the thought of getting a used tire for free is not new on the forum, but this was a real positive experience.  I had my piece of (free) equipment washed and hung in my home gym within ten minutes leaving the store.

I was walking my dogs the other day and up buy the field I found a big truck tire. I need to go back there with the dogs and have them haul it back for me.

These are pretty awesome. Thank you for the tips. I am gonna try them out. I had posted something last night but I don't know what happend to it. I was seeing if it was to out of control for normal humans to try or if it was in the realm of reason.

It was 10 works out ( Push up, squat thrust, Prison Squats, Dips, Curls, Crunches,Belly Blasters, Sit Ups, Leg lifts and Jumping Jacks and in each one of these work outs there was 6 sets and in that set there was 50 reps. After you finished one set of 50 you moved down the chain.

I found it on a website and I don't know if its possible to pull off or is it just the large numbers that are a scare or would it be safe to do this but lower the numbers down a bit.

I am however writting those other works out down as we speak so I can kindly steal them from you two  :-D

Any advice is much appercaited!

I am pegging out on a serious work out and I need to push the limits again. I am looking for something that I can do at home when I am not training or at the gym.

At my home gym I have the basics, Push up bars, Steel chair, two big concret blocks (Can be used for dips and I also put my feet though the holes for sit ups.) I have curl bar, Dumbells.

So any kinds advice that would take me about 3 hours would be a help.

Thanks

How do the camps usually work?  How many hour days and do we stay in hotels or do we actually go camping  :-D How much do they usually cost?

And Crafty, I heard you have been training my friend Conrad.Very cool!

218
Actually yes you will. I am going to be training with "Guide Dog" he is gonna get me ready for it and also beat me down for laughs lol! And I am gonna go to the Dog Brothers Camp in June.

219
Now I'm confused :-o

When I first looked up burpees online, people talked about what you are calling the squat thrust. Many descriptions said that for added intensity, add the push up and jump. Oh who knows.

So, I guess I've been doing squat thrusts.

I love squat thrust. Right after I do them I had in a set of Get ups and that will get your heart beating, Blood flowing and sweat dripping faster then any Burpee.

Ok..Here is the story

I had picked up my Lady and Daughter and we went to a local star bucks. As we parked 2 fat boys got out of a truck, smoking ciggs, talking over loud and were walking their way into star bucks. As they were walking up a Normal man and his Prego girl/wife were walking out and enjoying the weekend and these guys totally bulldog their way though the guy and his pregnant wife/girl. My Wife is getting my daughter out and notices me looking at them and she goes "Hunny" I said "both those fat F3&!@s need to get their asses kicked" Now Mind you I know trouble when I see it. I served with the Armies 10th Mountain unit ASScrackistan and in the end I could smell crap when I saw it.
Anyways,
We walk into Star bucks and there they are ordering drinks and acting loud and cussing about the prices… I can tell they are your typical over confident fat guys. My Family and me order our drinks and I carry my Daughter over to the seating away from the main fat guy and his over cussing about everything. I am sitting there playing with the two loves of my life and I notice noise coming out from some hole...My wife looks up, then looks at me...Then I look over and one of the fat bastards is saying something to me...I look at him and Go WHAT? He goes HEY, HEY you sling? I said what? He said Sling, Sling Ink? (Just for the record both my arms are covered in Sleeves) I said. NO...He said. Where did you get them., And in a tone I don’t like( The kind of tone where you know someone is either trying to start shit with you or trying to disrespect you. I said, Dude. In Rancho...He said” ok Rancho what? And how much and do you think you could get me a mother fucken hook up? (So now he is cussing at me and in front of my daughter.,.I said.. “Ok enough. I am busy man”. Then he got like angry face and I looked at him. And gave him the Dude...This is going to get ugly real fast look...Then his buddy gave me looks and started moving around my other side by my daughter and her Mom  And I thought..Ok..Now this is gonna get ugly cause this other guy is going to jump in. So now I think about my family in the middle, So I slide my hand kind of close to my blade...Now mind you. I don't look physically like a crap, So I think this is going To go one of two ways. The main fat boy is going To back down..Or they are going To rush me and I am going To have to go Kali (  ) on these two guys and get my family out of there…. So what happens..? I stand up to defuse the situation and like I thought. The main fat boy with the big mouth backs off. I am not saying I am the most threatening person on the planet but I know this type of guy that is trying to mess with me.
I stand up and say. Listen Man, I am with my family. Dig? He responds with Ya, we got to go.
As they shamble into the back of the shop and are putting cream into their coffee, I can hear the brave one of the fat f^$3Ks say low..If that punk was not with his family, I would have kicked his ass and his buddy say "I know you would have"..So my blood flares and I stand up..And I am just going to ran at this pile  and throw a flying tackle at him and choke his  face out before his buddy even knows what’s going on..My wife looks at me and just mumbles the words "Please" I was seeing red..I mean RED..Then my daughter who is two and some change said..Daddy, Daddy , daddy, daddy and started saying the alphabet song but instead of the letters singing it with the words daddy( all you fathers out there should know this song.It will break your trance at anytime. So I snapped out of it..And just went back to my mode..I watched these guys walk to their truck and I eyed them the whole way there..Praying one of those dudes looked back and flipped me off or came back in and gave me one reason to return to the red..They didn’t even look at me though the glass or mad dog me though the truck window into the shop. They bitched out and all they could do was mumble to each other how they would have kicked my ass.
We got in the car and my wife said.." Well,That could have really went the wrong way...
Anyways..Sorry for the long post but I had to join in and let this out.

I rolled with Judoka  today and my god..Their throws F*$#en HURT .. I thought I was gonna walk all of them on the ground. I had zero clue they pretty much did the same if not the same stuff we do in Bjj...And in Bjj I was never taught any of these brutal throws..And these throws were not done to me just letting them do it to me..We were fighting..And I gave   100% resistance and I think that made it WORSE.

Well for myself. I work out 6 days a week as well. I was doing 7 but I started to notice somethings..Crafty Dog pointed out something in a topic awhile back for me and a couple were happening to me..Not to mention alot of my brusies and bashes were not getting a chance to heal up.

I run a pretty serious and intence training..I started this game at 225lbs and I am 5'8 and after about 4 months, I am 170lbs and all muscle.

I start every work out with Creatine and a 250 Mg- L-Carnitine pill (A natural Fat burner)  and I end every work out with a Protein Shake and mix in Ammino Acids and then I eat something like either two cans of tuna and a apple or Chicken and some greens or Grilled Salmon and whole weat pasta or maybe just a good old fashion boiled american steak with some olive oil and now Yams =)  After I work out and eat I take 25 MG of zinc a Mens mulitVitamin, 1500 Mg of MsM (joint Health) 500 mg of L-arginine , 2000 MG of Vitamin C and 1000 mg of Glycosamine Sulfate and lots and lots of WATER

I noticed that this all aided in my power and speed and really helped me shed crap loads of weight and turn it all into muscle.

On my day off , I dont take anything..No Protein shake, No NOTHING..I have water all day long and I eat something filling like Grilled Salmon

Hey guys,

Thanks for posting the comments.  The controversy is excellent publicity for Marc, so let's help him out.  99.9% of the comments posted on the public boards will be derisive, mostly because those willing to post do so for the pleasure of the taunt.  I think it would be a great idea for anyone that has fought at a Gathering to refrain from countering these taunts.  First and foremost, more controversy = more publicity for Marc.  When the comments are generated by outsiders,  media producers take note.   Second, it's both fascinating and leveling to read what the general public thinks of the Gathering.  In the end, fighting martialists know the truth.  The rest will never understand.  As Marc says, they should just watch.

If we just say sweet potatoes then yes they are excellent.
They contain:
More beta carotene than any other fruit or veg
Great source of vitamin C
One of the only fat free sources of E
Both C and E help aid muscle recovery time
Great source of iron for oxygen production

Cut em up, drizzle with olive oil and garlic then roast them.

Off topic about sleep is not to off topic..Sleep does help you out ALOT. My cold lasted for about 2 days and I saturated my system with Tea , Bad Spelling , Vitimin C and Sleep..I must have drank to myself about a couple gallons of green tea in one day alone AND Arizona Icetea makes a tea called Herbel RX and its filled with Vitimins and I drank about 4 of those each day ..Would sleep then get up and eat more pills then eat..And it worked..The 3rd day I got bored with being sick..Told myself I was not sick anymore and then worked out for a hour..Then next day I was fine..I just had this lame cough that went away in about 2 days after that.
