my judo coach( actually my older brother) told me "you can go train with whoever you want to . . . when you've learned everything i have to teach."  and then still didn't let me train at other gyms until i was at least an early brown belt.

so have you learned everything one instructor can teach you?... and if instructor # 2 doesn't spar/ randori to you're level, can you actually use the information he teachs in YOUR style. will it be as effective as he proposes it would, in an actual real life situation.

i think this is the base concept of Crafty's/ DBMA "blending of techniques." you'll learn really fast what works and what doesn't when you get hit in the face with a stick. and then what works for others, might not work for you. just my thoughts. hope they help.

Hamill needs waaaaay more polish. . . people think he was robbed solely on the idea that this guy was the aggressor. Pbtth! He was gassed at the end of the first round. His "throw as many haymakers as i can and keep walking forward" doesn't make him a good fighter. lots of heart maybe, A+ for effort but he's way behind the ball on technique. i wouldn't mind watching him In a few years. just because Tito likes him doesn't mean he should be in the cage. and he had stamina prob;ems even back on TUF. he's lucky he didn't take a really good punch, or he'd be whining just like he was in TRAINING back then. a collegiate wrestler that didn't even wrestle, what one leg drag, because it was fed to him.

and Bisping, obviously the more skilled of the two that night. many sub attempts, straight down the pipe punches, just not a finisher. I had no problem with the decision. but thats what happens when you let it go to decision.

maybe I'm just venting at my brother-in-law, he thinks that because Hamill didn't win it was fixed.

hey CWS, when using the thrust with an expandable try more of a off line pushing strike. weak hand supporting the length of the baton and aiming to use only the tip. you kinda have to aim a little of line, not actually thrusting like a bladed sharp tipped weapon. a straight thrust would collapse and if you did have a support hand on, might skin your palm as well.

MAXX, is your diet sustaining your schedule? overworked bodies need rest AND proper nutrition for combat athletics. even eating what you might think is the proper diet, could be too low for your schedule. another option to present for the non day off person is hyperbaric oxygen therapy. recharge the body and repair all those little aches and pains. need more info on HBOT contact me at chris@ranchomiragehyperbarics.com.

hi all,

speaking of brain injuries... there was a brief episode on Good Morining America? that chronic T.B.I. from combat sports may be contributing to an increase in alzheimers and parkinsons among pro athletes. it was said that this may be a cause of Ali's parkinsons, stating that parkisons is relatively lo throughout the male african-american community.

on top of that, i've been following Hypebaric Oxygen Therapy is now being widely used to treat most sports injuries especially in combat sports athletes. My term paper graduating dive school shows that increased oxygen under pressure will reduce edema, hyper-oxygenates blood and plasma after increased blood loss, and forces circulation to all ischemic tissues. this greatly improves recovery  and recovery time. Holyfield used it after his concussions and i'm sure Rahman needed it with that tomato sized hematoma over his left brow. just left the commercial dive community to persue sports therapy with HBOT.
