No, Serra has done very well against other a-list fighters. He hung very well with BJ Penn(who to this day says it was one of his more difficult fights), he hurt Karo Parisyan very badly, and he used superior strategy to beat GSP. The gameplan he beat GSP with is EXACTLY, to the letter, the way his striking coach Ray Longo described their strategy prior to the fight(essentially to continually give GSP the fear of being taken down and strike into him while he's looking for the shot). While GSP has superior fighting attributes, Serra exploited a hole in his game and put him away.

Now, that being said. GSP has shown marked improvement and aggression with his wrestling skills since that fight, and this would probably close up that hole. If GSP crowds serra early, and remains confident in his standup due to the certainty that Serra cannot execute a takedown on him(he can't), then Serra will have to be very clever indeed to win.

I hope those two guys make it through the season.  They sure have taken some abuse thus far.  I think that one of them was not too far off the mark on the Kali episode when he began wondering it his instructors were softening him up for the marines.  I was hoping to see some techniques as well, but in both episodes thus far it's been mostly cardio/bag work.  I was also disappointed that one of the marines in the stick fight portion went into the "I'll take a strike to my fencing mask to get in a shin shot" mode.  As I saw at the June Gathering, even a pulled shot to the temple drops you like a sack of...

Leslie Buck's comments on Sgt Prado "I'm not sure how he does in sparring, but he seems to do pretty well at killing people".

That Sgt had I believe about a month of training with occasional refreshers. The core Force Recon training is primarily Striking mechanics, footwork, and the Contradas(an evasive counterattack strategy, for those not familiar). Note that does not include much in the way of weapon contact methods(ie deflections, umbrellas, etc). They just learn to attack, reposition, and attack again. Sgt Prado has actually managed to deploy his skills in blade-on-blade confrontations, and seems to have no noticeable scars on him.
