Hey guys, the tournament had a great turnout.  Most of the tribe did really well.  Unfortunately Dogzilla was disqualified, I think the call is kinda questionable but that is what GM decided.  Dogzilla landed a nice front kick to the abdomen of his opponent and completely took him out of the game.  The disqualification came because they called a 10 sec timeout, which I dont think Mike heard and in my opinion the ref should have brought down the "staff" which was used to seperate fighters. Hopefully Mike will post but he also asked that I post the results as well.  As for the rest of the tribe, 2 took first place in their weight division.

Dogzilla called me the day before the tournament and left a message.  His DQ reminds me of the time Billy McGrath dq'd me for "excessive contact" at a PT-Tuhon Gaje camp in Tennessee in 1988   

What word on the earthquake?  Is everyone OK?

Dogzilla and the other fighter had the crowd going pretty cheering pretty well, although in my humble opinion I dont think he (the other fighter) wanted to mix it up, Dogzilla got several kicks and power shots in.? Overall I think the tournemant was a great success, during the live stick fights, all the fighters worked their game, moving around engaging and disengaging rather than standing toe to toe the whole round, they worked footwork and technique.


In regards to the earthquale everything is going well, most of the state was out of power not necessarily because of damage but that rather due to emergency procedure that were tripped because of the vibrations, at least that is what was reported by the Hawaiian Electric Company. I believe no casualties resulted from the earthquake but the big island was at the center of the quake.? I think this is a gentle wake up call for all those / us that were not prepared for such emergency.? I live by Aloha Stadium and the grocery stores were open but they were limiting and escorting people that went in.? My co-worker told me of one store in Kaneohe that was gouging people on batteries. I came into work at Midnight and not all of Oahu was fully restored although all or most of the outer islands and a small portion of Oahu were back up in a matter of hours. Hopefully Oahu will be up at 100% by the time I get out of here. Other than that all is well, there was still a good size turnout for tournament at the FILCOM center in Waipahu as well.

 Rodney won the Solo baston.' Action - Flex  ' stick yet it was point style.
 Kawika won his middle weight division and made it to the grand Champion Live stick fight.
 Damien from Seyete Pares won on points.  he's from San diego. who might mix it up with us in the future??
 No clinching. Not able to grapple.  It got kinda jaded. The promoter changed equipment agreements ,, rules and fight stuctures -through out the event. My opponet had one leg out. Yet was still in the fight with a five second call to get the other leg in.
 so I kick him and hit him simo-. thus he went down . They called time in the middle of my exchange. Yet the ref did not stop .
  So bottom line. I knocked down their boy and got the boot.  DQ. for dogzilla is alll -- good.
 The others fought well and represented. We will go to work on what we' could'nt' do for these fights.
 Back to the knee game + kicking the legs. Thus we will start Stick clinch and Grappling ASAP>>>
 starting to work on double stick. Will emphasize Krabi- Krabong. starting to show some Los triques to the gang.
 Wanted to make a Circle. keeping the Focus on single weapons. Working  ""staff "" and knife and single stick.
 Yet slowly blending in doubles. Working bi- lateralizum. On the singles. All though looking for Simpicity...
Have been smuggling these concepts across multi-funtional drills. Giving the group some core drills. That they can express all weapons and movements.  Blending Crafty and Surf Dog's teaching styles.  To help me incorporate the Circle.
Everybody loves the Dog Brothers DVD's. + The Dvd's help to teach and learn.
 Gonna need help on the Kali- Tudo and Knife = Hawaiian clan Gang. We are gonna need to bring Crafty out.
 For those Circles of truth.. That WAY - we all can Die Less Often !!!!

this post is the first i have heard about an earthquake. hope everyone is well. hope t wasnt 2 heavy.( i will check cnn).
i was N seattle 4 the 6.5/7. a couple of years ago

the tournament was a good expereince. the host GM Tyronne Tadashi put a lot of work and effort in and it showed, thank you. He was resourceful and though no one else had electrical power for 5 - 30hours brought in generators as the show must go on.

special thanks to Dogzilla, thaiTom, Robert808 along with the other bros. Dogzilla thanks for giving me the tools to put it together. Also all of the DBMA dvds i got from DB came in handy. i used a piece of each, and my own spin on one or two. 
I highly recommend all of them, my favorites are Footwork(series1), Cycle drills and Los triques. the terms scrambled eggs, smash the bug, and yanking the chain are classic.

now that's enough of those rules smules. there was a rule for everything- omg.  felt like kindegarden.


on the earthquake, everything was fine for me, be sure you guys got your bug out gear-never no when people are deprived of the necessities they get crazy as in Katrina or LA.
