RIP Guro Patrick Davies
« on: September 08, 2010, 08:51:57 AM »
It is with great sadness that I inform you that Guro Pat Davies, founder of the Aberdeen Martial Arts Group, passed away late this morning.  Pat had been diagnosed with terminal liver cancer over two years ago.  I didn't know Pat very well, but I found his blog about his battle with cancer to be inspirational (http://patsfightagainsttcancer.blogspot.com/) and very revealling about the true nature of a warrior.

Guro Pat was an extended member of our tribe, as an instructor under Guro Inosanto and Erik Paulson, and number of his students have participated in the Gathering of the Pack.

His passing is a loss to everyone who's life he touched.

I recall he was an active participant on Eskrima Digest and sharing of his time, knowledge and experiences.

My condolences to his family and students.

RIP Guro Pat Davies.

Guro Davies name was known to me, even though I never met the man. He had a good reputation. RIP.
