The true heir of Balintawak
« on: January 24, 2004, 08:20:26 AM »
I have had the privilege to be under the tutelage of kali/escrima instructors such as Dan Inosanto and GM Atillo. I do not claim to be at expert level but this is getting really ridiculous.

This is getting to be as political as Jeet Kune Do. Who can use the symbol and who cannot. Who is the heir to JKD and who isn't. Thing evolve, those who claim to be teaching JKD today isn't the same as the JKD from the China school days. Because of evolution. The same applies here I think, people are arguing about who is the heir of Balintawak, and bickering about evens that have happened in the past. Find me a person who claim to teach true balintawak and you will have found a misguided soul. The fact is that Balintawak has changed and will continue to change.

Let not waste out time writing about what has happened years ago. I would rather be training.

we are not really talking about heirs and who is the rightful ruler, we are not talking about the succession of royalty here, nor is this some sort of martial arts nepotism discussion.

the discussion was simple, to find out who fabricated the story in question and figure out why it was fabricated.  it's that simple.

it was simply about a lie, that needed to be answered.  now, that it has we can now sleep better at night.

in respect to Guru Crafty's locking of this subject... as they say in court,

"CASE CLOSED!!!"  (the truth prevails)
