Two days of DLO training at the Canton Ohio seminar......and also having the privliedge of hosting him with 2 of my dedicated students for a day of personal training and gathering prep.

Hopefully this is just the begining of many trips here to our area of Ohio!
A great time and much thanks to Guro Crafty and special thanks to Pretty kitty for putting this together for us! See you and the rest of the tribe at the Aug. gathering.......The adventure truley continues!

Today, I am grateful to be living in this age of technology. Last night, I took several idle hours to download some really obscure music. Today, I put the music on my I-pod and was blasting it as I drove to have lunch with some of my family.

Computers allow us to have this forum and interact with and learn from people all over the world. It also seems to me that we are starting to use some of this new technology to make the world a better place. The world is far from perfect, but this is an exciting time in which to be alive!

My son is just about 15 months old. I can hardly imagine all of the things he will see in his lifetime!

Today, I am grateful for my grandfather. He passed away in 99. Yesterday would have been his 84th birthday. I am grateful for my grandmother as well.

My grandmother is still with us, but she would never attend a Gathering. About a year ago, she had her opinions about the martial arts rocked by an article in the LA Times about MMA. She is a very supporting, loving women, but she will never "get" what it means to me to be "Guide Dog". My grandfather would have been up front, cheering for the tribe, very much in a state of understanding of why we were all there. He was also a cantor at a synagogue in Orange County, so he would have doubly appreciated that we would all be gathered together because of the life's work of a nice, Jewish boy: Guro Crafty.  :-D

Today I am grateful for my wonderful mother in law.  She comes by to visit us and play with her grandson despite having great pain from arthritis.  I am also grateful for her motherly ways to ease my pain while my own mothers health continues declining.

Today I'm gratefull for the coffee I bought on the way to work (I'm always amazed at how much a good cup improves my mood),
the thought of taking my son to see his 1st movie in the cinema tomorrow (Kung-Fu Panda)
and a night out with my mates tomorrow night.

Today, I am grateful for my wife. She stayed home with the baby last night so that I could go out and see a midnight showing of The Dark Night, with some friends. I really enjoyed the film, but I don't see a lot of midnight showings in my future. I was wrecked for a good part of the day.

I'm greatfull today for yesterday spent with my wife (Kids were at the grandparent's)

Had a BBQ (yes it was finally sunny in Scotland), sat in the garden & then watched a DVD in the evening. A simple, but very, very good day.

Before eating, our family has the custom of holding hands around the table and saying together "We are blessed".  Last night, Conrad suggested that each of us say for what that day he was grateful.  Great idea!  I felt very good inside that this idea occurred to him.  And we did so.  I expressed how happy I was to be home.

I would like to express my gratitude to Guide Dog for thinking to start this thread.

I'm pleased that you think the thread is worthwhile, Guro.

Today I am grateful for my memories. I am transferring files from a very old computer onto a portable hard drive. When The transfer is done, I will wipe the hard drive with some software, and give the computer away. I have had the computer for about 10 years and it is filled with audio and video that is irreplaceable. I have a lot of good memories invested in that computer. It will be a little hard to see it go.

Today, after traveling in a car for most of the day at high altitudes, my 15 month old son became sick and threw up in the back of the car. Neither my wife or myself expressed any anger or disappointment. Rather, I asked her if she wanted to carry in the baby or clean up the car. She opted for taking the baby inside. We set about our task of cleaning my boy, checking to make sure he was okay, and cleaning dirty clothes and automobile upholstery. While I was washing some very soiled clothes in a sink to get them ready for a journey to the washing machine, it occurred to me how grateful I am to be a father to a wonderful little boy and a husband to a great woman. If that means I have to clean up a little yuck once in a while, it's very worth it.  :-D

Today, my wife's car battery died while we were far from home. She has a hybrid, and when we called the Automobile Club, they told us over the phone that there was no way to jump the battery. When the tow truck finally arrived, the driver had looked up a way to jump the car on the Web. I am grateful for the kind man's help, and to be able to drive away from the experience!

Today I am greatfull for having a great backyard workout with the "New to me" equipment my neighbor graciously gave me.  Also, very pleased with results of my first week as LPO "Leading Petty Officer" (ie Manager) of the "Wellness Clinic" here on base.  I have a great bunch of Sailors working with and for me.  I am looking forward to progressivly improving on their high quality of care and education.  I have also been asked to be 1 of 2 people to asses and "sign off" on Basic Corpsman Medical Skills for our young Sailors and to teach TCCC (Tactical Combat Casualty Care) once again to the hospital staff preparing to go into harms way.

It's been a proud Navy Week for me.

I am also thankful for the time spent with Sled Dog while in Vegas last weekend.  A truely humble Warrior with so much knowledge and experience.  Thank you Sled Dog!  Woof!!! 8-)

Today, my family and I drove back home to southern California from a trip to Arizona. We came home to find that the house was in the same condition that we left it. We are now unpacking and doing laundry. No one broke in. Nothing flooded. A tree did not fall on our roof. I am grateful to be home, and for us to have been away for most of the week, with nothing going wrong here at home.

Today/tonight, I am grateful to have led the first meeting of my training group since I fractured my foot in May. I am supposed to be ALL cleared on Wednesday, but I led a two-hour class tonight. It was great fun. I am grateful for the folks who made it to my home, and to have been left with a very positive feeling afterward.

As a resident of Chino Hills, California, with the majority of my family living in Diamond Bar, today I am grateful that the earthquake that took place did not harm any of my family members and that there seems to me mostly superficial damage to our possessions and our property. I am also grateful that today's (relatively small) earthquake will hopefully remind California residents that earthquake preparation is very important.

@ TT:  My wife worked sedulously on having our son's first words be "dada" so I would be the one who would have to go to him when he woke up in the night.

Woof All:

My wife has an "Attitudes of Gratitude" book for reading on the throne, which is where I happened to be before setting down to the computer.  My reading this time around spoke of being grateful for good things, but then raised the question of the attitude to take towards bummer things and to be grateful to them for what they can teach us.

I am grateful today that my wife is home safe. I recieved a call at work today that she was robbed at knifepoint by 2 males in their early 20's. She was walking home from the neighborhood drug store. As always she was walking with our boxer/pit who is very friendly but would attack if they would have grabbed her. As they were passing on the sidewalk they greeted hello and one petted the dog while the other pulled a knife and in a calm voice without touching my wife said give me your money. Though my bloods boiling, in this situation I'm glad she gave up the money an did not use the pepper spray or tell the dog to attack because she is home safe.      Craig

Might make for good discussion on how we would like our wives, sons or daughters to handle certain situations. See you in Burbank Sunday.   Craig in Hemet

Woof Craig:

I'm glad to move it, but may I suggest that it may be better for you to do so.  Some additional details, including the aftermath, may come to you as you do so.

The Adventure continues!

PS:  See you Sunday.

Today, I am grateful for the reemergence of multiple professional opportunities that I frankly had forgotten about. I also remain grateful that the Gathering looms in the near future. A fine day of hurting and getting hurt a little bit seems like a good way to spend this Sunday!

Today, I am grateful for a few minutes of play with my son that just took place a few minutes before we began to calm him down for bed.

Today I am grateful for the random phone call I got from Crafty, and the motivation I now have to start training again.   8-)

I am greatfull for the 4 new students that started training with me last night.  We had a great class.  Good turn out!

I am also greatfull for being able to represent the Armed Forces as part of the Honor Guard.  I attended four funerals yesterday and will be going to perform Military Honors at one this afternoon.

I am greatfull for the sacrifices made by those who serve(ed) and the loving support from all others.

Im greatfull that I survived my tour and expect to do it again in the future.

I am grateful for getting a little dressed up, having my sister-in-law be a baby sitter, a nice dinner, and a good show out among friends and my wife.

i'm grateful for my wife not stepping on a 5 ft rattler during our run this afternoon. just about to step and had to jump mid stride. i think it was just sunning itself, it didn't even react until we double backed to check it out. amazing
