Sweet. I called the academy to work out the details.

Is the uniform for your class the Inosanto Academy shirt and shorts, or is there something different for your class?

I used to work in El Segundo, after work when I had time I would pass by the Inosanto Academy on Manchester to watch the class. I would stand outside and peer through the window. And each and every time I did that Dan Inosanto would stop class and start lecturing. I would be looking through the window, standing there in my work clothes, time would pass and I would be standing there watching. Eventually the students would start staring back at me, just glancing. I did this a couple of times before I put the two together and stopped passing by. I wonder if he always does that.

Woof,

I was there, but I was miserably late.  I completely underestimated my travel time to the academy and due to LA freeway traffic did not arrive at the academy until 1330.  Jogo and Crafty, my sincerest apologies that I was so late.  I had a friend call the academy for me, but he got no answer when he called.  When I finally arrived at the academy, I spoke with the woman working the front desk and she informed me that I had just missed you, Jogo (I'm assuming it was you).  All in all, this was a very bad weekend for me, mostly through piss poor planning on my part.

Again, my sincerest apologies to both Jogo and Guro.

Woof All:

The kids were playing Laser Tag in Cindy's office this AM and knocked out our internet connection.  Cindy just hooked up the lap top-- all this by way of explaining that I would have been reminding people this AM that there is no class tomorrow.

Yip!

Crafty,

My friend Ken and I will be on the west coast in February and would like to attend a class, but our schedule is max flex... how much advance notice do you need, or can we just show up?  We'll give you as much advance warning as possible...  thanks much

r/Jeff P

p.s. glad to see Laser Tag is still full contact

Had a couple of really good EH regulars (including a TKD Olympian) and we worked the Kalimba Dodger single stick as a segue into the Arfful Dodger.

It felt like a very good teaching progression.

A fine time yesterday.  We started with Triangle from the Third Dimension theory, illustrated it with Variation 5, and took the footwork learned to Zirconia based "Kali Tudo" (tm)

And a rockin' good time it was.

Started with a Dos Triques stick combination and was pleased at the understanding every one was showing of the angles of the footwork.

Then we applied it in Kali Tudo with a combination that everyone seemed to really like.  I don't have a name for it yet, but as I was driving home I realized it and the Flying Bong Sao variations are part of the same matrix.  I need to make this clear next week.

After a week hiatus due to the silat camp, we were back in action today.

Was planning to go deep into military DLO with those who were there, but an out of towner showed up so instead we went deep into Kali Tudo.  Good times!

Then after class was over, Kevin stuck around and we went deep into military DLO 8)

Good times today.  We worked KT's "Dodger-- Flying Bong Sao Variations" with a particular eye towards solving for the shorter man against the taller-- T3D theory of course!

Good times as always.  A rather high level mix today so we were able to good rather deep into Kali Tudo for the smaller man against the bigger man.
