Unbreakable walking stick / umbrella???
« on: April 15, 2005, 08:17:07 AM »
Has anybody been able to try this out personally? I thought it looked good but i dont know how gimmicky it might be. i mean just cause the guy can stand on it without breaking doesnt mean its a good striking tool.

In my zest I forgot this

They have been kind enough to supply me with a sample and I will be testing it soon.  If I like it and if we come to terms on price, we will carry it here in our catalog.

Any reviews or new thoughts on this umbrella?  It rains a lot here in Oregon and I needed a full-length umbrella, so I took the plunge and bought one.

I don't have any skills with a stick yet, but hope to seek out a decent instructor or school to learn.

I have given a session on the heavy bag with full power baseball bat swings as part of the mix and it seems to both deliver power and hold up well-- certainly enough to last the first SD application

I'll be looking into price to us from the maker-- we may well wind up carrying this.

People here in Seattle should be going crazy for this!  It's drizzling as I write this.  Unfortunately, the frightened political climate is such that even my baby (under 2" blade) gerber work knife gets horrified looks now and then!   My job sometimes entails middle-of-the-rainy-night out calls to apartment complexes and  hotels in the heart of the city.  This umbrella, coupled with my surefire nitrolon (plastic) flashlight would be great used in tandem.  I think I'll wait to see if these Dogs make it available before I order one for next year's rainy season.

It's almost always rainy season in Oregon, so I went ahead and got one of these ubrellas because I needed one anyway.  Very solid feeling and better looking than on the website.  Though designed as a swinging weapon, the brushed steel tip would not be enjoyable getting poked with.

This is a very nice umbrella.

Somebody should make a movie in which Mary Poppins carries one of these in case she runs out of ammo for her fancy custom 1911 pistol.
