hit to the knee

a question to the hit to the knee (top dogs one). is this a
pekiti tirsia style hit? or from a other style? &
they got also other low line attaks -"similar" to the knee-hit?

i know the dogbrother tape with the three different knee-hits
(that from crafty dog, salty dog and top dog) and also
the "counter" -the illustrissimo step.......

in my "classical" kali style they dont have lowline attaks
like this - because off that -im curious

  Top Dog?s stick, including his knee attack, is his expression of his Pekiti Tirsia training.

  Salty Dog?s knee attack comes from the Derobio system (Baulio Pedoy) a system based upon not meeting the force.  If you carefully observe him hitting , , , ahem , , , me, you will note he draws a rising defensive movement to protect the head from me and does a drift shot to the emptiness behind my stick and that his follow up follows the same principle.

My knee attack comes from my training in Inosanto Blend and can be found for example in the Siniwali pattern "the LaCoste 8 Count".  I took the movement from the 8 count and used it to seek the same ulitmate target as Top Dog (the nerve outside the knee) but originating from a forehand chamber.

This is not to say that there may not be other systems with these ideas, merely to give credit to them for being the source for us.

Salty Dog was the last man certified by GM Braulio Pedoy (or was is Pedoy Braulio) before his death at the age of 92.  Born and raised in the Philippines, GM BP spent the latter part of his life in Hawaii.  

Dan Medina of Albuquerque New Mexico was Salty's teacher for the bulk of his training in the system which is also noted for elaborate stick locks and traps.

If I am not mistaken there is also some legitimate instruction in the San Diego CA area but the names involved slip my mind.

it seems (also when i look to the fightingstance
and shorttype of hitting at the gahtherings from
salty dog) -that its a .......type of serrada/close (?)
art of fighting.....  i dont know.... but thanks
