Hey,

Just thought people might get a kick out of this. It was billed as being just like Dog Brothers. ;) They posted the video of the session here in Australia.

Cool.  You gotta start somewhere.
I don't know how many of them it would have taken to whip my ass, but I knew how many they were going to use. That's a handy little piece of information.

Hello, I'd better introduce myself
Clive Girdham
Sydney Australia

My background is in grappling, boxing and Kickboxing for the last 25 years. I'm also heavily into reality based self defence. I run a fight club where we train No Holds Barred full contact fighting and a training organisation called SafeGuard which teaches people how to deal with violent confrontation.
I teach defensive stick, based not around martial arts but simple defensive anti knife techniques.
Before yesterday I had never "dueled" with a stick, yet given I'm happy to fight NHB all night I thought I'd give it a go.
Well? I got my arse well and truly kicked by a great bunch of guys. The last time I had an adrenaline dump like that was in a Shark tank. Have i got a taste for it? You bet. I've seen forum chit chat about bringing people over to Australia. If you want it to happen then I can arrange a venue and a cast of thousands.
I'm glad you liked the video, for a number of us this was the first time in the stick arena, but like all those other arenas we will step into, we soon get upto speed improve very quickly. To grow you need to put yourself in a classroom with better people and that's what The Sydney Fight Club members will continue to do.
All the best
Clive

Cool! good luck to you and your crew  :-D

wannabe has such negative connotations. there are probably many groups of guys out there training in their garages and backyards, testing out the things they've learned, and enjoying the goodness that is stickfighting. it's good to hear about more people giving it a go...

I'm happy to see more of this going on. I really really dig this clip. I can tell these guys were really enjoying themselves.
