LOL ...thanks Guro Crafty, no worries.  Civil debate is always good ...even when confronted by "relentless logic."

GM - maybe "knockdown" would have been a better term for me to use.

Hi GM,

Mostly based on police reporting, video footage, and personal accounts of people in the field.  Like I said "people have strong opinions ...and most of them are valid."  I've carried many different pistols and feel confident with using any of them (thought I love my 1911).  Magazine capacity vs stopping power ...solid arguments can be made for either one.

Train well...

This is a no win argument, cause people have strong opinions ...and most of them are valid.  However, regardless of whether you're a LEO or civilian, you're responsible for EVERY round that you fire from a weapon ...so accuracy is paramount!  My opinion, I'll go for the larger caliber.  I don't subscribe to the one shot school of thought, but you're more LIKELY to STOP an attacker with a 45 vs a 9mm.  Of course, multiple targets make higher capacity attractive.  So I guess when I say larger caliber ...I really don't want to give up ammunition capacity ...when presented with the option, I'll reach for:

This is a La Canne video that someone sent me a while back.  A lot of flair, but a great display of skill as well.  It'd be interesting to see how someone trained in this manner would stand when fighting someone out of their element.  Sorry if someone posted this already and I missed it.

I agree 100% with Cuchulain.  I've been getting most of my workout ideas from Gym Jones for quite a while now.  They're consistently fun and challenging ...and the fitness/health results have been great.  Just be sure you read their disclaimer first.  It stresses personal responsibility.  Like I've heard Guro Crafty say in all the video's I've seen, "Only you are responsible for you."

Many thanks Crafty.

Hey rawbzilla ...excellent web site.  I've wanted to try Capoeira for a while, it looks like a blast.  Probably put me in the hospital, but oh well, that's never stopped me before.   :-P

Take care...

Hi all ...my name's Eric.  Greetings from the Washington DC area.  I've been involved in martial arts since the day I got my drivers license, 20 years ago.  I'm part of Guro Inosanto's instructor family, and my true passion's are Kali and Pentjak Silat ...oh yeah, and my family.   I hope to be able to get from and give to all that I can.
