Martial Arts Topics / What are some indications your finger is broken?
« on: February 17, 2011, 09:33:41 AM »
Can you actually hear a clicking? Or could that be something else? The tip of my finger is broken, I believe. What can aid in healing it the fastest.

I have immobilized it. But it is the tip so is doesn't move anyhow.

Created a cocktail of Fighter's Friend, Dita Jow, and arnica. Along with some calcium pills

I think I might just end up stinky with kidney stones and a broken finger.

Please advise

Martial Arts Topics / Attacking Blocks - a training neccessity
« on: August 29, 2006, 08:48:25 AM »
I was teaching class the other day and I realized one of the best drills for getting ready for a Gathering is Attacking Blocks. It is important as learning Hubud. At least, I feel that way. I could see it being taught in every FMA class. Needless to say, lets take time to give credit where credit is over due. Attacking blocks is a creation of Guro Crafty and a core part of dbma curriculum. In a 100 years I could see someone saying we have always had attacking blocks but we do 4 blocks and 4 hits instead of 3 and 3.

The ability to cover distance and move your stick while hitting and counter attacking is essential and quite honestly there are very few drills that address that aspect. So take another look at it, tear it down, look at it up close and I think you will agree. It will supercharge your training.

Martial Arts Topics / Marines, Estalilla, History Channel
« on: December 11, 2004, 08:42:41 PM »
Kalani, I could not figure out when the Marines/Lebanon episode was showing. If you check Discovery Channel website. Look under "Unsolved History: Suicide Bombers."

The Estilillia tape is available at bloodsport.com otherwise known as Kombat Instruments Ltd.

Also fun note, Guro Crafty and my friend, Richard Kwon will be acting in Alien Chronicles on the History Channel. Also, you just might see myself, PappyDog.
