Grateful for my families strength and love as we venture to Santa Cruz for a last hoorah before the kids go back to school.  Just happens to also fall on Jades birthday.  *(She would have been turning 7 this year)

A fathers love is eternal

Best wishes to everyone attending this weekends trainning camp, "Friends at the end of the day"  :-)

For what it's worth, it's my belief that lost children exist in the embrace of the heavenly father and that you will see her again.

Grateful to be enrolled back in school. I probably need to focus on that for a while. I've been studying Arabic and Chinese. Grateful for what my Creator gave me.

Grateful for another evening of mentally saying, "Man, I would rather do anything than teach tonight", that turned into me walking in my house afterwards, mentally saying, "I love martial arts."

Grateful that a nice summer that has allowed me to spend time with my children is coming to a close. I am ready to get back to work, and the fall will bring with it answers about what space will end up being my first commercial school.

Grateful for a long, silly phone conversation with my best friend that lasted late into the evening.

I am grateful....tearfully grateful that my wife understands and supports my crazy need to be a man. I am also grateful that she expects me to take a good nap after a training session or a hard day at work.
After all my injuries, she will never ask me to stop, but rather fill the ice pack, help with my shoulder sling and do range of motion when I need it. I am truly blessed!

Had a moment of pure bliss tonight teaching martial arts in my new space. Only half of my mats were set up but we were finally able to safely cover some panuntukan/Silat style throws. One of my students said something like "I was completely exhausted before I got here tonight, but you're so excited when you teach that you make it impossible not to get pumped up."

I'm grateful for all of my instructors, including GC, who have played a part in shaping what I have to offer my students. After I had closed the big warehouse door, before I drove home at the end of the night, I stood in the wai position facing the many pictures (including some DB action shots) I have in my new academy with my eyes closed for about 30 seconds. It was an intense moment of feeling like I was doing exactly what I am supposed to be doing with my life.

Grateful to finally be working things out with the wife, with both sides making improvements. It's best for my little girl. My wife and I are replaceable to each other. My little girl's upbringing is not.
Edit: I do have a great wife and life. I should mention that.

Grateful for honest people.

Monday when I flew back into PDX from the Gathering, I got some frozen Yogurt with my gf and we sat on a park bench to eat it. Unbenounced to me my wallet fell out of my pocket and I didn't realize this until the next afternoon. I went to a starbucks directly across from the bench and was told a woman had found it Tuesday morning. The woman told the employees not to worry that she was going to turn it into the police. I just picked up my wallet with money and all in it from the police. Now I'm trying to track the officer that took it so I can get her name and thank her profusely. :-D

Grateful for the keepsake. Stuff like that doesn't just fall from trees and even though Miyamoto Musashi warns against items of sentimental value, in this case, I'll make an exception.

I'm just damn grateful. Had my head in the sand for quite a while.

I'm grateful that I really understand both sides of it. I didn't before, and I paid a heavy price for it. These days, mostly, I'm just grateful to have the relationships that I have, on both sides. I learn from them both...what I want to be like and what I don want to be like, and psychology.
Long day, many miles, grateful to have a bed to sleep in. So many of our boys are sleeping in the dirt, rain and mud right this second. I'm grateful for them and what they do.
