I have been playing with this barrel-end slashing movement, in the left-false lead (I’m a righty, so R foot forward with L hand on top) and discovered that said slashes can be used as a set up for the Malayu stroke – you already have the correct hand and feet position to do so. From the Malayu Stroke, you can then transition to the butt-end slashes.

I am currently trying to get a video showing this posted on the forum for all to see.
