  1. I appreciate showing the different uses of the roof. Both setting up a strike as well as closing. So far both fighters in the video seemed to mostly have the same stance. Right lead. What are some of the intricacies of the roof when you are mirror image? Is there a reason to train to be stance agnostic or stick hand Agnostic?

  2. Good questions.

Since the release of this material circa 1993, things in DBMA have evolved.

    A) For example, we now have about one dozen things to do off of the roof block– not just the Caveman strike. Search for “Roof Block Variations” on the forum and the VLs.

    B) Regarding Mirror Lead:
b1) If it remains same handed (e.g. righty vs righty) one fighter will be in an “off lead” (weapon in rear hand) most likely in an approximation of the Salty Game. For the Salty fighter the long stepping ideas off the roof (frondos, teeps, knees) will be relevant.
b2) If Lefty vs Righty, then Kalimba Game variations will be relevant. Note that Roof Blocks will be responsive to backhands, NOT forehands!
