I like this. It really breaks down double stick fighting to its essentials. Ive done many drills but they rarely help.
I love this technique, because it can move your opponent off the centerline to facilitate a strike setting up many more options.
As Top Dog comments, for him this is the most powerful double stick strike.
Based as it is around movement that turns the hips and rotates the spine, its cultivation (including particular exercises such as “frisbee tire”) develops a healthy spine and waist.
When it disrupts my opponent balance/composure I often like to follow up with a “Frondo Blitz”.
This is a really great shot.
I try to use a variation of Heaven six in solo training and this seems like it’d be a great add?
The clearing / striking is nasty. That shot in the video must have been one he remembered for a while.
Absolutely a great add!
Consider doing it as a variation of Heaven 3 as follows:
When starting on the R:
Instead of RLR-jab to set up being on the left side for symmetrical training, go LR-R-Dodger (and maybe a L-Caveman). In other words, go Fluid Attack into Dodger-Caveman.
Thank you sir! I’ll play with that. This is like a candy store.
We aim to please!
BTW I should mention that the example I gave above is against a Left Lead Siniwali Caveman and likely will need Inside Diamond footwork.
